Then Joseph said to the people, “Indeed I have bought you and your land this day for Pharaoh. Look, here is seed for you, and you shall sow the land.  Genesis 47:23

What a prophesy Joseph made concerning what Jesus would do for our God: He would buy us for Him.  Today, freed from the hands of the enemy, we can praise the Almighty and live what He did for us. Now we belong to Him and are His property, and therefore we can enjoy everything that the Holy Scriptures announces to be ours and walk firmly in freedom with which we were delivered without letting the enemy cause us to be shaken.

We don’t know the value Joseph paid for the land of the Egyptians but we do know that the price Christ paid was extremely high.  He did not mind surrendering his life in favor of us so we could belong to God; so our purpose is to do everything for His glory. Now, if we belong to Him, how can the evil one possibly affect us and make us suffer his pains?  Wake up!  You belong to the Lord and the devil cannot touch you.

Don’t let Satan use you for his filthy purposes – sickness, sins, poverty, misery and disrespect for the Word. He who lives oppressed by the powers of darkness has to believe he belongs to the Almighty. Therefore, even if Hell throws itself against your life, don’t believe or be drawn by his lies. You have all the power to rebuke and reject any evil and be free from it. This happens now; so live, be free and be healthy!

What we are and what we have belong to the Lord our God, and just like Joseph exacted one fifth of the production – 20% – be delivered to the Pharaoh, we must tithe 10% to the treasury of the Lord, only one half of what the king of Egypt received.  Don’t be evil in heart! Being faithful and gladly tithing you will taste the best of the Lord. The blessing is a right of those that are saved, as long as they believe and claim what they need.

The seed to be planted was there.  So all that needed to be done was just to till the soil and seed it according to instructions. This way the harvest would be bountifully blessed. The unbelievers who thought they would not prosper did not see the hand of God performing in their favor.  But believers who planted the seed they received from Joseph, enjoyed the best from the abundance of the land. Believe: what is planted and cultivated will return multiplied.

The other 80% after the Pharaoh’s share would be for them, their cattle and their families.  Prepare your land, your heart, and plant all the seed you were given through and by the Holy Scriptures.  Then prepare yourselves to enjoy wonderful harvests of fruits.  Man will reap everything that he sows (Galatians 6.7).  The harvest is much greater than the planting.  Isaac, Joseph’s grandfather, harvested one hundredfold what he planted.

They planted a perishable seed subject to decay, but we plant the uncorrupted, which will never be subject to any harm. Their ministry was material; ours is spiritual.  Don’t miss this opportunity for God is faithful and keeps His promises.
