“called by God as High Priest “according to the order of Melchizedek,”. Hebrews 5:10

Jesus’s obedience to God by way of His suffering led Him to be called by the Most High as the High Priest of our confession and faith, according to the order of Melchizedek.  He was not enabled through his own efforts in the ministry, but by a determination from the Lord, which enabled him to carry out the task entrusted to him.  Likewise, everyone who is called by God to execute any task can be assured that they will be enabled to carry it out.

Undoubtedly, those who learned by undergoing suffering and affliction will prove how much the Lord has helped them, and by remaining faithful, will receive a special treatment by Him.  This happened this way with Abraham, who was called a friend of God.  The Master declared: You are My friends if you do whatever I command you (John 15:14).  Therefore, verify and see what task the Most High has entrusted to you and carry it out.  If you remain faithful to Him, when your task is completed, you shall be rewarded.

Ever since his early childhood, David sought to learn what was divine will and dedicated himself to learn and to do it with all his might, and that´s why he was called a man according to God’s heart (Acts 13:22). In the same manner, whoever seeks the Lord and walks in His light will be greatly used by Him.  This way, the Most High will say things with respect to you which will follow you forever. Therefore, be a faithful servant!

Mary was an ordinary girl, but dedicated and submissive to God.  She was called up to carry out the most important part in History, which any and all women would desire.  She accepted to be an instrument through which the Savior would come to the world and received the title of mother to the Savior.  Nevertheless, this did not confer to her any special position or distinction.  Humility was her sign, and to this day in Heaven she continues to serve the One who considered her apt for that mission.

Simon was a common fisherman, a man with no formal education, but was called to learn from Jesus.  With the passing of time, he proved himself to be a loyal good student, having his name changed to Peter, the rock.  Reading his letter, we notice how the Master’s instructions worked through him.  It matters not who you are now, but it does yes matter if you will obey and execute the purpose of the Lord.  Learn the lessons of the Creator, and no doubt you will be ready to carry out the work now and in the future.

John and James worked with the father in their father’s fishing business.  However, when Jesus called them, they left everything behind, for this no longer mattered to them.  From then on they applied themselves to divine purpose and work.  From fishers of fish, they became fishers of men.  We do not know why Jesus called them the sons of thunder, but there was a purpose in this.  Serve God and He will give you a new name.

What and how does the Lord call you to this day? May He never call you an unfaithful and evil servant.  Be courageous, bold and accept the Master’s invitation to obey His command to go (Mark 16:15). The best in life is to surrender to the heavenly Father, for He wants to prepare you and send you to the world. Rebels will never prosper or be suitable to be used by God.  Judas Iscariot preferred the easy life by theft, but when he betrayed Jesus then he was lost forever.  Be forever faithful!

In Christ, with Love,

Author of our future name!  The world can even label us, but what matters is only what You say concerning us.  For this reason we bow before You to do Your will and be Your full joy and pleasure!

Just like Abraham we want to be Your friends; just like Jacob, princes that fight by Your side and prevail; like Mary, instruments to take Your Word to the lost, and like Peter, David and so many others that served You.

May Your hand reach out to us and transform us, giving us grace to withstand the battles and struggles and be approved.  Then the glory will be Yours.  According to the commands of Jesus, we will march to fulfill Your purpose.  Lord, we thank You for loving us!
