To console those who mourn in Zion, to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that He may be glorified.

Isaiah 61:3

Sadness overwhelmed mankind with Adam’s sin. When he was driven away from the Lord’s presence, man was separated from the source of love and because he no longer had fellowship with the Creator, his spirit would not be fulfilled and, therefore, he would not rejoice anymore. This lasted until the death of Christ on the Calvary, when Jesus rescued us from the evil forces. Since then, there has been no reason for God\’s people to be sad.

The coming of the Messiah and the subsequent anointing bestowed on Him had one goal: to change the countenance of mankind. However, this only happens to those who accept the Son of God as Lord and Savior of their lives. For those who stand in defiance, there is no rejoicing. Only the mourners of Zion will be consoled with the beauty of happiness. But there are many people in God’s house who have not yet learned about it.

Instead of mourning, despair, or any other bad feeling, there is a heavenly garment that will cover the saved ones. All who are accepted in Christ are accomplished people; they are fulfilled with what it takes to be happy. Those who go through the new birth discover that the Lord rejoices at their decision and, therefore, the joy of the Most High is available to them. So all you have to do is claim its fulfillment.

The blessing was granted to us in its entirety. The Almighty gave us the oil of joy in return for the sadness that overwhelmed us. Now we, children of God, do not need to mourn or despair when something bad happens to us. Nothing should take away our happiness. As long as the Lord is guiding our steps, why try to understand what happens to us?

The biblical revelation continues with good news: God changed our spirit of heaviness for garments of praise. Therefore, our attitude should always be to praise the Lord. For us, there is no such thing as bad luck. When we are in fellowship with Him we can rebuke everything that rises up against our happiness. After all, why waste the garments of praise if we have the name of Jesus to overcome the forces of darkness?

Everything that was done to us has a purpose which is far greater than our well-being: to glorify the Lord. Those who examine this topic will find out that they have an obligation to be happy and as result, besides leading a good life, they will give the Lord His due praise because our happiness is pleasing to the Father.

If you do not take your stance in Christ nor live according to the tenets of the Word, you will allow the devil to lie by saying you´re a loser. You must be called tree of righteousness and planting of the Lord. You had better be what He says.

In Christ with Love,
