But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 2 Thessalonians 3:3

The Lord’s faithfulness is something admirable. He will never forget one of His promises. Therefore, do not take for granted anything that God says through His Word, because the revelation He sends always comes with the necessary power you need to fulfill what He expects from you, even if you don’t believe it at first. This is what Martha, Lazarus’s sister remembered.

One day Lazarus passed away. When Jesus arrived, four days later, Martha said that if the Lord had been there four days before, Lazarus wouldn’t have died (Jo 11:21). Jesus then responded that if she believed, she would see the glory of God. The Lord would never say something if it weren’t relevant to us. Therefore, we should keep everything He says, because someday we might need it.

God promises to comfort and to protect you from the evil one. From now on you can and you should live a free life. It doesn’t matter what Satan will do against you; the Lord will comfort your heart from every threat the devil sends your way. In other words: God will give you His own words so you can face the enemy’s threats. The Lord’s comfort makes us stand firm in faith, knowing that nothing, absolutely nothing, can defeat us.

The Lord also promises to protect us from the destroyer. So by trusting the Word, fight the malign one, conscious that he cannot be victorious against you. Be certain that the Lord will protect you from all Hell’s threats, and even if the devil tries hard against you, he can’t do anything to harm you. With this promise in mind, go to battle, knowing that you will be victorious. When we are protected by the Omnipotent one, we will not lose a single battle.

Where is the enemy tempting you? What is he threatening to do against you? Be firm and do not let any of his plans become true. Satan knows that if you are firm in the divine promises he cannot fight you, but if he takes you away from the Word of God, then you become an easy target. Therefore do not leave your position in Christ; Satan’s arrows cannot harm you. Stay exactly where God placed you.

The Lord has always been faithful and He will remain faithful to those who put their trust in Him. Just like it happened in Babylon, God protected Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego inside the furnace, which was heated seven times more than usual (Dn. 3:28). He will also protect you. Like He did to Daniel inside the Lions’ den (Dn. 6:22), He will do to you in any situation. God is faithful and even if you are unfaithful, He will remain faithful, because He cannot deny Himself (2 Tm. 2:13).

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
