I lay down and slept; I awoke, for the LORD sustained me. Psalm 3.5

We must never give up the confidence that God gives us in His Word. Through it, we are free from evil onslaughts. For what he wrote, the psalmist was treated like any of us, so don’t despair when hell comes against your life. If your faith is in the Most High, no matter the attack, you will win! He made a simple and important decision, without being influenced by the evil one: he lay down, slept and woke up.

The most important thing to do in life is to trust in the One who never lied or failed to keep even one of His promises. Being God, He disarms the snares of Hell against you. To the Lord, it doesn’t matter if it is a pain or an advanced cancer. What the Father needs to work in your favor is your faith in the Word. Without it (Hebrews 11.6), even the prayer we pray is considered a sin (Romans 14.23).

Despite being surrounded by dangers, after getting right with God and believing that he would be kept by Him, the psalmist went to bed. Now, if the testimony of the Lord guarantees that He will do what He has promised, why should you keep begging for no evil to befall you? Whoever wishes to please God has only one thing to do – trust in Him. Now, it is wrong to say that you believe in the Lord and doubt that He will fulfill what He says.

David proved that he trusted the Almighty by lying down and sleeping. Why be worried when you already have the testimony of the Holy Spirit? We should behave like the psalmist in times of distress, when apparently there is no way out. Our example will be imitated by many people. You can’t say one thing and do something very different. Then we will be false witnesses of the Son of God!

We are what we declare, and we utter what we learn in the Word. Never say something and do the opposite. With that kind of attitude, you will enroll in the school of the evil one. Our speech must be yes, yes or no, no (Matthew 5.37). By saying something and acting differently, in addition to speaking what proceeds from the evil one, we give ourselves over to him. Mercy! The Pharisees do not please God, but the righteous are His delight (Proverbs 12.22).

The actions taken by the psalmist to lie down and sleep made the Lord be pleased with him, so he woke up rested. Show by your actions that you believe in God and obey the Scriptures. Upon awakening, David realized that his lot would have been very different had he not believed: I would have lost heart, unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27.13). Do not perish, but remain for eternal life!

The Most High will sustain those who dare to believe in His Son, in spite of what the unclean spirits say. Never believe in these defeated demons, but in the victorious Name of the beloved Savior, who died and rose again, that man might be justified before the Father. Only those who believe in what Jesus did for man will be sustained by the Almighty (Matthew 10.29-33). Those supported by God give themselves to Him with all their hearts. Believe and be blessed!

In Christ, with love,

God in Whom we can trust! There is no way man can stop trusting in Your Word, for from it we receive strength and power to overcome the forces of the evil one. Otherwise, we will only have the expectation of eternal suffering!

We need to be positive in everything we hear from You. Your promises came so that our faith would stand firm in You, without being led astray by the lies of the enemy. We want to give You the true praise of Savior and Protector - of those who learn to serve and love You!

Sustain us, Lord, and we will be saved from the attacks of the King of Hell. Guard us, and the darts of the evil one will hit us no more. We want to live in such a way that everything in us is a testimony of the love proved in the death of Your Son. We love You!
