…and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power.
Colossians 2:10
Both in material and spiritual life, things are not handed to us on a plate. Truth be told, we do not have to do anything to be saved, but only believe. It is also true that we do not have to do anything to deserve the blessings that have been purchased for us by Jesus. But if we fail to fight the good fight or to strive to take possession of what is already ours, we will get the same as the lazy men: nothing (Proverbs 20:4). In the verse above, the apostle Paul speaks of the great conflict he had for the Colossians.
Fight for your family before they do something that will make them suffer throughout their life. Fight for the converts and for the lost ones that the Father inspired you to reach out to. This war is won with prayers and supplications. We must seek God’s gifts for people to be enlightened, renounce sin and be filled with the Holy Spirit. Keep in mind that they need to be comforted and knit together in love, so that they attain all riches of the full assurance of understanding.
The objective is to get the lost to understand Christ, the mystery of God, for in Jesus are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge (Colossians 2:3). Thus, neither they nor those who learn from them will be deceived by the fallacies that men create. Keep remembrance of all who need God and it will be as if you were there beside them. Their proper conduct in faith should be the reason of joy and praise to the Lord.
One of the secrets to being successful in your spiritual life is to never leave the first love you had when you accepted Jesus as Savior. You were in sin, you did not seek the Lord and yet He came into your life and saved you. But do not change your way of serving Him. You have begun by the Spirit so keep it up. Seek to be rooted and built up in Him, as well as established in the faith. God taught you to do so, therefore do not frustrate Him but abound in thanksgiving (Colossians 2:7).
People who do not know the Almighty come up with a series of philosophical precepts which have a strong and yet subtle appeal, but it should never be admitted by those who know Him. Do not be fooled by these lies; be careful because they have a form of godliness (II Timothy 3:5), however they are devoid of power. For those who are not grounded in the sound doctrine of the Word, such doctrines may seem the answer from Heaven in a time of need.
Do the work with all your heart based on what you learned in Christ. When you received the Son of God, you accepted the One in whom dwells all the fullness of the Father (Colossians 1:19), which means you lack nothing. Now, only believe what the Word reveals about you. If there is something you still have not received, do not panic, because you have been already improved in Christ.
