Moreover I will establish his kingdom forever, if he is steadfast to observe My commandments and My judgments, as it is this day.’ 1 Chronicles 28.7

One detail would make Solomon, David’s son with Bathsheba, blessed and not die before his time: fear of the Lord. This promotes us before the Most High, but the lack of respect for the prohibitions made by God or for His orders brings us down. Those who see evil coming, and despite rebuking it, do not see it leaving – must examine their attitudes regarding the divine commandments and judgments. Understand: without cause, the curse is not fulfilled (Proverbs 26:2)!

The Lord has His reasons for making decisions, and they are all just (Psalms 145:17). He knows the thoughts and intentions of the heart (Hebrews 4:12). Not only the evil purposes, but also that temptation that arises and you don’t refuse it, even though you are in prayer. Moreover, in a clear and silent way, leaves it for later examination. Never listen to the enemy and reject evil immediately (1 Thessalonians 5:21,22)!

When God assigns a person any mission, we can be sure that He is giving them the best. To fail to take such a command is to deny the Lord. The saints must not disregard the divine commands. As a loving Father, God wants their good. The Creator declares: For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Solomon would have to continue to fear the Lord, respecting the judgments and commandments. In this way, his kingdom would be established forever. The lack of fear of God is the cause of divorces, business failures, unemployment and other problems. How can the Father take care of those who don’t even respect Him or obey His commands? The rebellious servant is good for nothing.

The Lord spoke to David about his son, the heir to the kingdom, who was fulfilling His decrees until then. But notice this part: Until this day. It was a warning. If he changed his ways for the worse, none of the promises concerning him would be fulfilled. Every agreement will be executed by God if the person, the other party to the covenant, also fulfills their duty. The Lord is faithful! 

The Most High foresees the situations, including the devil’s temptations for your life, so he warns you of the danger. It is not good to be negligent. So, knowing the evil intentions, you must prepare to counterattack as soon as the enemy moves in to execute his plan. The apostle Peter, for example, used meaningless words, declaring that he would go with the Master even unto death (John 13:37), but the Lord warned him: Jesus answered him, “Will you lay down your life for My sake? Truly, truly, I say to you, the rooster shall not crow till you have denied Me three times (v. 38).

When God calls your attention to an impending doom, it means something prepared by the devil against you. Therefore, thank the Lord for the favor and instruct yourself, in the Word and in prayer, to destroy such an onslaught. The wise, because they are of God, do not despair, but equip themselves and win the battle.
