Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God.

II Corinthians 1: 21

All those who have joined The Gospel must be strong and firm in their battles against evil powers. There is no reason why a child of God may lose a fight for the enemy, once the latter is already defeated by our Savior – and in The Name of Jesus, to all servants of The Lord – authority over hellish powers has already been granted. Therefore, we need not fear the challenges ahead since we are confirmed in Christ.

The apostle Paul knew that his word would always be confirmed in Jesus. We need to be careful not to get the work done in disagreement with the divine will; if that is the case it will not be approved. The determination of those who abide by the established rule will be successful just like the achievements of the old servants of The Most High were then.

The anointing we have received as we were baptised in The Holy Spirit did not come from men, but from The Almighty One who pours onto us such oil so we are able to act on His behalf. Being covered up with such a power we can do the same wonders He did when He acted in The Name of His Father. There is no reason for you to feel unqualified to do the divine work. In Christ, we are more than conquerors in all things (Romans 8: 37).

As we look to the statements in The Word of God we can consider ourselves as equals to those who served The Lord in the past. They were not more important to The Most High than we are now. For instance, Moses was called up to serve God in his generation, and then came Joshua and the judges among others. Some of them were quite reluctant in that they did the divine work precariously. Cain’s offerings, for instance, were altogether rejected since he was reckless (Genesis 4: 2 – 7); the children of Aaron ended up losing their lives for taking profane fire before The Lord (Leviticus 10: 1, 2).

God wants His work to be done today just like it used to be in the biblical times. The biblical records are the criterion on which all generations are to fulfil the divine will. Provided we follow the guidance from The Heavens we will always get it right. Therefore, if we perilously insist on doing what we deem to be the right thing to do – or what we are told to do by someone else – we will not be successful at all. No matter what community you are to evangelize, or the season or the place, the criterion of Christ must be unquestionably followed.

No work said to be from The Most High will ever be accepted if done distinctly from what the servants of God did in the biblical days. Jesus said that He set the example for us – just like He went about his assignment then – to follow suit. If we are engaged in imitating our Master we will get His approval as well in that our work is to be done in Him. The example set by Jesus must not be despised by those who He called up to carry on His mission.

The Lord will confirm all word unveiled to you in The Scriptures and He will grant you the understanding for whatever you need.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
