Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He has broken the gates of bronze, and cut the bars of iron in two.

Psalm 107: 15, 16

As Adam, the first man on earth, disobeyed the divine command of not to eat the forbidden fruit he caused his descendants to stay perennially separated from The Lord God. Because of that we, his descendants, were to be caught up eternally in the devil’s clutches and condemned to eternal suffering. Yet, because God is good, He showed his love towards us and worked out a way to rescue mankind and make it experience His kindness.

The Most High didn’t spare any effort to put His plan into practice and so for everything to be done legally (Romans 6: 23) someone would have to die in men’s place. Since there was no righteous man who could accomplish such mission God decided to give His own Son to do it. So, through a project likely to be carried out only by our Heavenly Father, His Only Son had to be incarnated – Jesus was born and it was He Himself who came to break down the gates of bronze and the bars of iron of the empire of slavery.

Now, all that’s left for us now is praising Him for such an act of goodness. Now, it was the love of God itself which made Him see in us something we cannot understand on our own. So, if He was willing to pay such a price we only have to consider His action as wise. One day, The Most High will show us the reason of such act. For the time being it’s up to us to be thankful to Him and allow Him to carry out the next stage of His plan in our favour.

What The Lord did for us is described as wonders upon which The Word speaks so we can understand them. It’s good that we may learn about them and that we take hold of them, for, once we believe in them, we’ll be praising The Almighty the right way. The success we need to have over all temptations and the other traps of the devil is dependant on our understanding about what was perpetrated by Jesus on The Calvary – wonders on mankind’s behalf.

Apart from replacing us by paying the price for our sins, by carrying all our diseases and fighting for our right to enjoy the peace which exceeds all understanding (Philippians 4: 7), Christ defeated Satan by breaking down the gates of bronze of the cursed captivity. This is why, today, nobody needs to surrender to the enemy’s desires since all those seductive and sinful fetters – his snares and filthy desires – which used to hold us down are now torn to pieces.

Thus, the traps which the enemy held us with under his will are absolutely worthless now considering that Christ got rid of them all. Therefore, from then on you and I – and whoever else wishes to join us – can sanctify ourselves for us to participate in the inheritance which the faithful to The Lord shall have in The Heavens for all eternity. There’s no more sin nor there will ever be any which might have dominion over our lives; therefore, we’re now in fact and righteously delivered from evil’s slavery.

So then, look into yourself and see what sort of slavery the enemy has been imposing on you, then you can confess it to The Lord and ask Him for forgiveness. This way you’ll be able to live the splendid divine plan for your life.

In Christ, with love,

R.R. Soares
