Arise, go to Padan Aram, to the house of Bethuel your mother’s father; and take yourself a wife from there of the daughters of Laban your mother’s brother. Genesis 28:2

Isaac knew how to give good orders to his son Jacob. The directions would not allow him to err, because they were accurate. Is it right to stop telling the truth to our children? Should we keep them from growing because our days are different from the old? Beware of such thoughts, because they come from the devil, who wants to kill, steal and destroy everything and everyone (Jn 10:10).

We should only fulfill a mission when we know what our duty is during this mission. You have to listen well in order to get it right. However, if we make a mistake, going back is a virtue. Those who never recognize their error before God will not see the Lord working in their favor.

Jacob did the math and saw that the journey would be long and dangerous. But with the blessing of the Most High, he would reach his destination. Before building a tower, Jesus taught that a person should sit down and check if he can do it. After all, the way to go will be long, full of unforeseen events. If it lacks the necessary measure of faith, the result can be bad. See if there really is any possibility of finishing the work to avoid being a source of mockery (Luke 14: 28-30).

Jacob needed to go to his grandfather’s house without turning left or right; otherwise, he would be disobeying his father’s orders. Be aware of your thoughts! If any new ideas arise, they did not come from the One who pointed you in the direction. There is no doubt that the devil will offer you a lot of things to paralyze you on the way. But those who wants to win are focuses on the target. What is your goal?

Nor did it occur to Jacob that perhaps she did not like him or refuse to be the wife of a much older relative. When the Almighty lights the way for a faithful servant, the doors open for him. The Lord is a good Strategist! So just trust that everything to be as He has said. Ignore the lies of the enemy! God is with you!

Jacob was sure that one of Laban’s daughters would be his, and Who’s love would make her feel that he was the man prepared for her. The long journey was faster than it would be for those who would trail it without a purpose from Heaven. Jesus’ yoke is easy and His burden light (Matt. 11:30)!

Fulfill your calling with love and dedication, and you will see, every second, how good God is. Jacob soon got up, set out, and began to have revelations from on High that made him happier and more determined. Do you believe that?
