“Better is the poor who walks in his integrity than one who is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.” (Proverbs 19.1)
Those who are really wise are not always the most successful regarding material things; yet, they’re not foolish. Now, those who are perverse in their lips are taking one of the most deceitful attitudes: they’re drifting away from our Father. There’s a lesson to learn in the verse above never to be forgotten: the Lord says that the poor who walks in his integrity is His favourite.
Those who respect the Word of the Lord will not always be the most prosperous materially. Since they know there are pre-established limits by the Most High, they won’t stretch out their hands to be dishonest; they don’t get involved with wrongdoings so they usually lose a lot. But God who’s all wisdom – the One who will judge everybody one day – says that He prefers that kind of people to those with perverse lips.
The Lord states that those who speak perversely will lose at our Father’s choice though they might be deemed as wise and successful by others – men aren’t qualified by others; they’re qualified by our Creator’s impression on them. The Most High says that a fool is the one who tells lies and cheats or flatters their neighbour; the one that has got lips that tell lies. “For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?” (Mark 8: 36). Or “For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26). Well, since we’re eternal beings we’ll never do anything that will cause us to lose our eternal happiness, if we are wise; the eternal happiness is reserved for those who strive not to get contaminated.
When someone gets involved with hoaxing to prosper or when they’re interested in taking advantage of banned pleasures or even enjoy them, they’re certainly taking the worst deceitful attitude. It seems as though humankind has gone mad! There have never been so many people committing adultery as today. In fact, those who are being carried away by the devil’s lies are numerous; that’s the reason why they’ve lost respect for the biblical commandment. Some will even deem their cause is an exception to the point of thinking they won’t be punished by the Almighty God. Nevertheless, they’re foolish because they’re being pervert and that will cause them to take the worst deceitful attitude: they’re adrift from our Father.
Unlike those men who consider a winner and to whom honour is due just because of the best clothes they’re wearing, or where they live, God sees what’s inside us (I Samuel 16: 7) and that’s what will count on the Great Judgment Day.
The passage above in Proverbs teaches us one of the most precious lessons: Being obedient to the Word of the Lord regardless if we have a lot or just a little, we mustn’t be taken by perversity or lack of respect to the living Word or give in to temptations. So, my brother, we mustn’t do anything banned to anyone; we mustn’t allow our lives to be overwhelmed by those things or driven by those desires to the point of behaving like those who will be convicted to eternal woe. The Most High isn’t against prosperity, success or the pleasures He created for us to feel joy. All things are lawful as long as they’re within the limits of The Word (I Corinthians 6: 12; 10:23).
In Christ, with love,
