Nevertheless, to the degree that we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule, let us be of the same mind.
Philippians 3:16
Once you know that the Most High is not the author of confusion you do not have to worry about whether people perceive what you are doing as right or wrong. The devil can even insinuate that you are not acting in accordance with what you have been ordered to do, but your duty has to do with what was revealed to you through the Word of the Lord. As you fulfil what you have learnt in the Scriptures you can wait on the Lord and ignore any lies that might convey the idea that you are failing. You will reach the target right on the spot if you obey the Word!
Do not let the same enemy that used you in the past start disturbing you with doubts again or with feelings of guilt or even with a desire to “improve” your salvation. The Lord who made you complete in every good work is the Only One that can improve it (Hebrews 13:21). Therefore, keep that in mind because there is no point in doing the work if it is not based on God’s plan.
The Bible forbids additions to or subtractions from the revelations contained in it, which means that you do not need to go beyond or fall short of what was written to you. All you have to do is to be faithful to the words spoken to you by the Lord; in so doing you will have fulfilled your duty. At the same time, stay on the alert because the enemy – who resents your position in Christ – will come to you with the most far-fetched excuses in order to make you abandon the divine project. He is a master in transforming himself into an angel of light (II Corinthians 11:14) and he acts in a way that is apparently so perfect that any distracted person might say: “It’s a work of God!” – But remember: what comes from on High is always peaceful.
Strive to avoid any discrepancies between what was revealed to you and what you really do. To achieve that you must run away from the religious attempts of aiming at being “the man” and from boasting about what you think you have done for the Lord. Those who fulfil what He wants find a sense of accomplishment in Him and do not seek any honor for themselves. There is nothing more rewarding and that brings so much peace than doing exactly what the Father tells us to do; therefore, do not let yourself be carried away by that human tendency of trying to improve what cannot be changed. If you walk by the same rule through which you became aware of the commandments, you will have done a very good job.
The Christian who lives the Word will always be victorious. To him it does not matter what his mind says, but rather what has been revealed to him. In the past, God told Moses to build the Tabernacle exactly according to the revelation He would give to him (Exodus 25:1-9). My brethren, you too have already seen the “scale model”, designed by the Lord, of the work He wants to do in your life. So, do not go beyond the divine project! Do not fall into the temptation of using your carnal mind or any tricks to get what is freely given to you by our Beloved One; and do not offer profane fire on the altar of the Lord either. Troubles, contentions and arguments show that, apart from not being on the same page as the true servants of God, you are not sharing their feelings either.
