The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit; he has ceased to be wise and to do good. Psalm 36.3

We have a lot to say about the wicked, since they are everywhere, and it may even be that some of them are occupying the pulpit of churches, claiming to belong to God. The Lord Jesus taught us to know these people, as they are known by the opening of their mouths. Only wickedness and deceit come out of their lips. When dealing with the wicked, you must be as careful as possible, because they are very dangerous and harmful.

The best thing we can do is to pray for them. Nevertheless, when we find ourselves before a person who has embraced wickedness as a way of life, we must be wise and stand firm in that which we have learned from the Holy Spirit. If we do that, we will be sowing the Good Seed in them. Even if the wicked person does not become a believer—which is desirable—at least he will respect you for seeing the Word of God, which bothers him, coming out of your mouth.

When you are talking to a wicked person, remain in spirit of prayer, because the devil will try to use such person to plant a lie in your heart. Stick with the revelation of the verse that we are studying: The words of his mouth are wickedness and deceit. Of a bitter spring good water will never come out. Even if a wicked person sounds reasonable, do not allow yourself to be fooled by the enemy. He who believes that a wicked person can say good things is completely mistaken.

A common mistake is to stop paying attention to what the Father says through his Word. Even if you want to be used by God to help someone, or occupy a position in life or even in church, if the Lord does not speak with you through what is written, anything you do on your own will be bound to failure. That is what a wicked person does, because he flatters himself in his own eyes and refuses to hear God’s voice.

Another thing that leads to wickedness is failure of doing good. Well, some people are called to be on the frontline; others are called to be in the back. He who does not take his position is failing to do good, so he will fall into wickedness. God needs people who stay at the entrance of the church, who give good council, who focus on outreach ministry, who preach to their neighbors and relatives, and who sponsor God’s work. The servants of the Most High are constantly doing good.

The righteous have an appropriate, kind and upbeat word for each circumstance. They seek from the Lord what to say, what to do and when to act. Therefore, they always arrive at the right moment, with the right words. So, with faith and without fear, they are used to raise those who have fallen, to warn those who are not being watchful, and to encourage those who believe.

These are the people in whom the Lord Almighty is pleased. Wickedness will never be in their mouths and deceit will always be far away from their lips. This is the type of person that the world needs. Out of God’s work, what prevails is each person taking care of their own interests, doing what pleases them, what gives them pleasure or profit. Be a righteous of the Lord at all times.

In Christ, with love,

Lord, Creator of all things, you created us with the ability to do your will. You gave us a mouth to speak words of comfort, words that edify and exhort. This way, we can and must be a blessing for our generation. Give us always the word of faith.

How sad is to know that there are people who allow wickedness and deceit become the master of their lives. They will not go very far, because they will trip on their own declarations. We want to serve you always, Lord, without giving an opportunity for the evil one to use us.

We want to understand your will to fulfill your plans, leading those who are lost to find you and become believers. We want to do always what is good. We want to get to the place where you are leading us. Oh God, we accept your guidance!
