Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience.
Ephesians 5:6
What the devil enjoys the most is to place people in our midst in order to deceive us. He trains the servants of his kingdom very well – and it is a well organized kingdom, by the way – and he sends them with all their capacity to lure those who are not rooted in the Word of God. Those who do not pay heed to what the Most High teaches become easy preys in the hands of the greatest trickster, but those who stand firm in the One who is gentle and lowly in heart (Matthew 11:29) will not be confused.
The servants of Satan always go up to us with empty words. Sometimes they seem to be friendly and everything they say and do indicate that they want to be of some assistance to us. But beware! Their words have the power to corrupt the unwary! Those who are not founded on the Rock are likely to be entangled by the enemy and then, before they know it, it will be too late. We must always stand firm on the only foundation – The Word of God – and in so doing we will not be deceived.
Whether a person is well intentioned or not, what really matters is the way he or she talks. Actually, anyone may say empty words, after all the only productive Word is the one that proceeds from God’s mouth. He who heeds it and abides by Its teachings will never be deceived; however, he who is not in tune with what he learns from the Lord will be easily misled.
The wrath of the Lord comes upon those that despise His Word; even when admonished, many prefer to be children of disobedience. Now, because God is omniscient He knows everything and, consequently, He sees what the devil is up to in order to take us from the Light and make us suffer. Then, the Almighty One sends His servants to bring us the precise revelation that will set us free from the devil.
Everywhere, even in the churches, we see many children of disobedience – all those who do not pay heed to the Lord, who complain about the hardships they go through and blame God for not having protected them. Now, those who act that way will take responsibility for the harm they will suffer for their rebellion. On one occasion God told Solomon that if he left Him he would also be left by the Lord (II Chronicles 7:17-22). My brethren, what the Word declared three thousand years ago is the same today. Therefore, let us not depart from our Father!
Jesus said that His Words are Spirit and Life (John 6:63). Those who take upon themselves what God tells them, have His power operating in their favor. On the other hand, those who get disconnected from what is ministered to them stay alone, without protection and even if they strive, they cannot get rid of the attacks of the prince of darkness.
