You showed signs and wonders against Pharaoh, against all his servants, and against all the people of his land. For You knew that they acted proudly against them. So You made a name for Yourself, as it is this day.

Nehemiah 9: 10

Israel went off to Egypt for the plan of God to be fulfilled. For that to happen, The Lord lifted up Joseph – Jacob’s son – who, in dreams, received a divine direction concerning what was to come next. Today, The Lord is training those who will serve Him in the next generation. He knows what is about to occur to humankind and, precisely for that reason, He has been calling up people who will be granted His anointing for them, in the coming era, to take action in His Name.

At the house of Potiphar – chief commander of Pharaoh’s palace guard – Joseph proved himself a child of God. He drove away from sin and, with a righteous and incorruptible spirit he became the prime minister of that nation. Even when his master’s wife set up a trap Joseph proved his spirit was not vindictive considering that, as he became the most important man of that country, after the king, he did not look to her to take revenge. Vengeance belongs to The Lord and, with the rise of that servant of God, it turns out that vengeance was already being put to practice.

According to the interpretation he had given of Pharaoh’s dream years of plenty came which were represented by fat cows. When famine came, symbolized by skinny cows, Joseph was the salvation not only of his family as well as the whole Egypt and that of many other peoples which, just like him, set off to look for food in the land of the Nile (Genesis 41 – 42). Out of today’s crisis The Lord has raised us up; out of tomorrow’s crises He will raise others. What really matters is serving Him the way He has planned.

The years went on and then Pharaoh died – the one who had been favoured by God through Joseph’s life. Then, the new rulers, not recognizing the goodness perpetrated by the people of The Lord to all those who assist them, acted with pride; therefore, they committed the worst error ever in their lives. Those who give themselves to that kind of conduct today will also pay a high price.

The Most High put to shame many of the Egyptian gods by sending ten plagues to that land and, with a strong hand, taking out of captivity those who belonged to Him. Besides, He performed signs, wonders and numerous miracles in the land of Ham (Psalm 105: 27). The Lord is not performing more wonders among us due to the lack of people who would actually serve Him with all their hearts. God is always good in His work.

The punishment The Most High imposed on Egypt was due to the fact that the Egyptians were awfully arrogant towards the people of God. That word was written to show all proud people that The Almighty will not spare them. He breaks down each one that happens to exalt themselves and He raises those who humble themselves (Luke 14: 11). In all things and for all things you must always be a servant of The Lord.

In our generation we need to be cooperative to our Father for His work to be done. The Lord is to become renown worldwide with what He will do for and through you. Do not fail to give Him the true glory and you must never allow your heart to be raised either, and you are never to consider yourself as a special person. God will use you proportionally to your commitment to Him. You must never take the glory that belongs to The Most High!

In Christ, with love,
