Do not neglect the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of the hands of the eldership. 1 Timothy 4.14

After receiving salvation, we must give the next steps towards being reborn, which is completed after baptism in the Waters and in the Holy Spirit. Without being born again, no one will see or enter the Kingdom of God. Once you are part of it, you will receive gifts to fulfill your mission and will never again be imprisoned in the hands of the enemy, who will always try to destroy us.

Timothy had a special blessing when compared to other Christians. When he was separated for the ministry, he was given a special ability that he should not neglect. Now, if this gift were not essential for his calling, God wouldn’t have offered him in such a special way. Since the Most High is Omniscient, He knows what we will need until the end of our days and will enable us for our mission.

Prophecy is a gift divided in two groups: one composed by what all the saved can do – to comfort, build up, and exhort – and another that refers to the ministerial gift, which only some receive. However, in both groups, when the message is given by the Lord, it is imperative. If you despise this gift, you declare that you do not need Him. Mercy, Lord!

In Timothy´s case, he was sent when Paul imposed his hands on him by a divine order. After that, the young pastor was successful by using the capacity that the Spirit of God gave him. Do not despise what you have felt or received from God, because without His blessing, you will not manage to fulfill your work in a way that pleases the Lord. If you do your work without Him enabling you, it will be an imperfect work.

It would be good if everyone remembered the moments in which God used them or revealed a specific word to them, and then did something to revive this ability. Certainly, there are many people needing help with this anointing. Despising your gift is the same as if a surgeon during an operation chose a kitchen knife instead of a scalpel. Use the best tool you have, for it will enable you to execute your task in an excellent way.

According to what Paul wrote, Timothy was a little discouraged; however, the young man should bring to life what the Lord had already granted him. Whenever you receive an inspiring word, a prophecy, cling to it and use it, for it is a valuable help from High to you. God knows very well why He grant us His gifts.

See if you have disregarded what the Father has already given you. Certainly, everyone needs you to do what He has called you to do. Human gifts are necessary for several reasons that we already know, and some that we will learn in eternity. The secret is not to let discouragement take over your life. What do you say? Amen?

In Christ, with love,

Lord! May we know how to bring to life and use what You give us, for Your work needs workers that are guided by Your Spirit. Thus, everyone will be blessed, even the most mature in the faith.

Many people still do not know the gifts that You have given them. May they be able to receive these gifts and be filled by Your Spirit. Then, they will outpour in anointing.

Do not let discouragement take away the life in the ministry of those that You have lifted in Your Church. Keep Your people and protect Your servants so that they may not fall in the serpent’s tales. Thank You. Amen!
