Lord, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.

Psalm 90:1

There are two biblical characters who are trustworthy in everything they do: our God, for always doing good and for fulfilling His promises, and the devil who, being evil and ruthless in his essence, causes wickedness in the lives of those that do not find a dwelling place in the Most High – those who do not assume what The Word speaks into their hearts. But those who take in the statements of the Lord about them are out of the devil’s reach. On the other hand, those who pay no notice to what is being said either through a preached message or through the reading of the Scriptures, whenever assaulted, will be accounted for because they had despised the Shelter that could perfectly have kept them.

The Israelites, being a little nation though, and with scarce resources, discovered that, from generation to generation, they could make The Lord their Refuge. There was a time, just like in David’s kingdom, when the people of Israel were the most important on the face of the earth. The surrounding nations, one after another, became taxpayers of the children of Abraham. At that time, the children of God would not lose a single war at all. Today the same thing happens considering that when someone decides to believe in what the Scriptures say he or she begins finding shelter in God and, in doing so, he or she becomes a winner in the end.

At that time, in spite of the fact that the devil had not been stripped of his position as a usurper of the authority the Lord had bestowed upon man and, for that reason, being able to oppress whoever he wished, he could not touch Jacob’s descendants on account of the faith the Israelites had in The Most High. Today things have turned for the better. Anyone can become, overnight, a lord of his life by living free from the devil’s assaults, and still be used to deliver others from Satan’s claws.

The sad thing is that, even having lost the battle for Jesus who, with His blood, bought us from his hands, the old snake keeps on oppressing many people who don’t know yet their stand in Christ. That is why we have to preach The Truth not only to the lost, but also to the saved ones because many of them still live their lives away from IT. It is written that lack of knowledge makes people suffer (Isaiah 5:13).

Do not let yourself be defeated. At any sign of any assault of the enemy you must stand firm and strong by resisting with your faith to prevent him from invading your territory. If you resist in faith he will go away. The devil cannot stand those who go against him in the Name of Jesus. Under such authority we’ll always make wonders (Psalm 60:12).

God keeps on being The Shelter for those who believe in Him, those who needn’t fear the enemy any longer because all those who believe in Jesus have been granted an authority over evil powers. How about believing in the Lord and living a life the victorious manner? We’re the ones who make the whole difference. Those who believe in the Master and use His Name are undoubtedly victorious in everything. Drop your doubts, your fears and you must dare to assume what belongs to you because this pleases the Lord.
