Therefore I came without objection as soon as I was sent for. I ask, then, for what reason have you sent for me?”

Acts 10:29

God’s servants always obey the orders of the Almighty. So when the Lord says “go”, do not ask why but obey. After all, it is a privilege to be sent by the Almighty. No matter the cost, the sacrifice or the challenges you have to face, God will give you the tools to fulfill your calling.

God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent (Numbers 23:19), so He would not send someone to a mission without preparing the way and necessary resources. The chronic doubters ask questions, the rebels refuse to go and the fools question whether or not it is God’s will that they should go. However, the obedient servant says: Here am I, send me (Isaiah 6:8).

There is nothing better than being assigned with a mission by the Almighty, even if it is extremely dangerous. If God sends us, danger becomes nonexistent. He who obeys is accredited as an Ambassador of the Kingdom of God; therefore this person can do what Jesus would do Himself. The glory that the Lord would have in that work if He did it Himself is the glory the obedient servant will have.

Peter did not doubt the story told by the soldiers who brought him Cornelius’ request, but as a minister of God he wanted to hear the reason from the centurion himself. In similar situations make sure you were sent for by the authority. There are people who want to promote themselves before their superiors and end up lying in order to obtain approval; but later their words will be proven false.

As a servant of the Lord, be always ready to obey His order. When you are sent into battle, conduct yourself as a soldier on a mission. No matter the time, the challenge or to whom you are sent to minister, God will guide you safely. The anointing on your life is the assurance that you can use it anytime. So whenever a mission is assigned to you, fulfill it with flying colors.

The fact that Peter wanted to know why he was sent for by Cornelius shows that we must have dignity in the accomplishment of our mission. Of course Peter respected the centurion, but he should be respected as a minister of Christ. Make it clear that you are a minister sent by the King of kings.

Our ministerial call is a high privilege for us, so we cannot let it be trivialized. Obviously we want everyone to be saved, but besides the wisdom we must have in order to do the work well, we cannot allow anyone to treat us as insignificant people, but rather as representatives of the eternal Kingdom of Jesus.

In Christ with love,
