I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your salvation; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great assembly.  Psalm 40.10

In Psalm 40, David was used to convey God’s Word to us, talking about himself, his problems and the Savior who would come to rescue us from the evil kingdom. In verse 9, the psalmist declares that he did not hold back his lips, but rather – preached divine righteousness in the great assembly- the Father knew this well. That is the reason we also do the Lord’s work, announcing the plan of salvation to all and binding the devil, to completely destroy his wiles.

The king did not hide the righteousness of God in his heart. So too must every worker of the Lord. We must not let the enemy enslave people in sins. We must act, if the conditions to do so are in our hands: Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do so (Proverbs 3.27). When we were baptized with the Holy Spirit, Jesus gave us the authority to undo the adversary’s bonds, to loosen the oppressed, and give sight to the spiritually blind (Luke 4.18,19; John 20.22).

We should never join with those who do not have the light of the Bible to complain about the government, for example, whatever it may be. We have the power to change things, and we don’t use it. When we fast, our target should not be our personal problems, but a deep communion with the Father, to use the prerogatives He has given us in favor of the captives. Do not keep the ability to do righteousness within you, but have it on your lips.

Every human being has the right to know that he can get rid of his iniquities, because right after he sins – the Holy Spirit convinces him that it was evil, and therefore he will be oppressed by the devil that tempted him. Because they don’t know how to act, many continue to transgress, but if we tell them that Jesus has already paid the price for mankind´s redemption, they will listen and rejoice. Nothing is more beautiful than when someone repents, confesses their sins, and gets rid of them.

Before helping the lost, we must bind the strong man: When the strong man fully armed guards his own palace, his goods are in peace. But when a stronger than he comes upon him and overcomes him, he takes from him all his armor in which he trusted and divides his spoils (Luke 11.21,22). God did this to set us an example. So, let’s fix our way of doing things, without hiding righteousness within us?

Sinners may have the Truth that will set them free from sin. But if we don’t use God’s righteousness – the power received at our conversion, they will remain in spiritual darkness. Let no one continue to be dominated by the enemy, destroying themselves. Let us do the work as commanded by the Master, healing the sick, casting out demons, and leading people to experience salvation in Christ! There is no other way to accomplish God’s will!

To preach God’s faithfulness is to give people the assurance that they will be led by Him. Salvation is the means by which the lost are delivered from Satan. Because of this need, we must make the great assembly – mankind – understand that the Lord is gracious and desires to make them know the Truth. This way, we please the Heavenly Father!
