Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us fear lest any of you seem to have come short of it. Hebrews 4:1

Respect for the things of God, His commandments, His love and other observances will make us successful in faith in Christ, if we live blamelessly. It is useless to pray all the time, if there is no fear of the Lord in your heart. Remember that He is not like us, He is the Almighty, so He must be revered and loved. Whoever does not respect the Lord does not walk with Him.

Failure to give the Most High the due honor leads man to distance himself from His holy presence and to walk under the rule of the evil one. Rebellion is one of the most insane acts anyone can carry out. It is like an authorization to the enemy to enter your life and enslave you with sins, diseases and other suffering. Certainly, someone in their right mind would never want to go through this.

Why stop walking by faith? This is our great opportunity to avoid being overwhelmed by the adversary’s works. We know that the devil walks around us, roaring like a lion, looking for someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8). Unfortunately, many have not taken this into consideration and are being attacked by various evils. It is necessary to protect yourself and enter God´s rest, and only faith will make you experience it.

A few months after they left Egypt, the Israelites were led by the Lord to where they could go up and begin occupying Canaan. However, when Moses told them to go up and possess the territory of the Amorites, they did not obey. Now, God had already shown that he was with them, to give them success in the occupation of the Promised Land, but they let fear take over and did not go in.

By acting foolishly, the Hebrews left the Lord aside. Why did they do this to the One who had taken them out of Egypt, so that they would occupy the land that He would give them? Lack of faith. Thus, they had to wander for 40 years in the desert, which provided no refreshment. Now, the desert is no place for human beings to live, because it is inhospitable and contains venomous, wild animals.

Many “believers” live in real spiritual deserts. Why have several of my readers come to the conclusion that they are not enjoying abundant land? Out of pure rebellion to the Lord’s commandments. Failing to do what He commands, or to do what the Scriptures forbid, even if you are full of reason, is to sin consciously. With that, your prayers are no longer answered.

It doesn’t matter what you consider to be normal; if the Bible condemns such an act, and you practice it, your attitude disconnects you from God´s presence, resulting in evil action in your life. Love the Lord with all your heart, with all your soul and with all your understanding. Enter the promised rest!
