“The LORD reigns, He is clothed with majesty; The LORD is clothed, He has girded Himself with strength. Surely the world is established, so that it cannot be moved.” (Psalm 93:1)

Only the first part of the verse above would be enough for us to put our faith in the eternal God. When the psalmist states that “He reigns” he’s giving us all information we need to believe that the evil that’s afflicting us will have an end – be it a disease, a financial crisis, a troubled marriage or any other kind of temptation. After all, the One who reigns has all power in his hands. One of the last statements of the Lord Jesus testifies to that in the Gospel of Matthew (Matthew 28:18).

The Lord was clothed with majesty which means that there’s no risk of finding any flaw in Him: either wickedness or lack of love. The Most High is thorough; He reigns over all known fields and also over those yet to be disclosed. He reigns both in the spiritual and in the material world; His majesty is notorious everywhere. His pleasure is to turn those who are dominated by temptations – slaves of any sin – into His holy servants. His satisfaction is to set free those who are oppressed, and to heal the sick and to give everyone peace.

There’s nothing God can’t do. He’s the owner of all gifts, secrets and abilities. There’s nothing that can hinder our Father when He decides to operate (Isaiah 43:13). He turned us into His children when we were given salvation in Christ, so our sins are forgiven now and we were also made heirs of the Almighty God and joint heirs with Jesus (Romans 8:17). We have access to the same Grace that operates in His Only-begotten Son, that’s why nothing can ever separate us from the love of God.

The preparation that the Lord worked out for Himself in order for Him to put into practice His good will in us is so tremendous that it made the psalmist emphasise his statement which says the following: “He is clothed and girded with strength”. That’s more than what we need because there’s not the slightest chance for us to be defeated in any of our battles – for those who we fight with the help of the Most High against evil forces. So there’s no reason for us to fear tomorrow or any other evil assaults. Never mind about what’s getting in our way, we’ll be victorious in the end.

God not only guarantees that the physical world is established because nature laws will never change but also that men will never be able to destroy the Earth though atomic bombs have already been made and other kinds of weapon are yet to be developed. So, there’s no reason why we should get desperate with any breaking news on some atomic power controlled by some dictatorial maniac which might extinguish humankind. The Lord Jesus stated that the Heavens and Earth will pass away, but this generation will not pass away (Mark 13:30-31). Those who believe in God will never get desperate.
