“These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel on this side of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the plain opposite Suph, between Paran, Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.” (Deuteronomy 1:1)

God never speaks without a purpose, that’s why we mustn’t act like reckless students that don’t pay heed to what they’re being taught. We need to observe how we used to behave as well the words we failed to pronounce according to what Lord has shown us. We must put the Word into practice and become doers of the God, keeping in mind that the Most High never speaks different words in a different manner through different sources because His Word is One.

There are attentive students in all schools willing to learn and others that pay no attention to what’s being ministered at all. It turns out that those who are approved or pass the test by cheating think they are very smart. Yet, they’re not cheating only their masters, but they’re also deceiving themselves because they’ll find out later on, when they need those teachings, that they’ve missed out on great opportunities to learn. Those who are good students are hardworking students first and whenever they’re being tested or when there’s a job opportunity for them, they’ll be successful.

Something very similar to that happens in the work of God: some people only like to go to church on special days such as when there’s holy service, at Christmas, in New Year’s Eve, at Good Friday or when there’s a famous preacher at the altar. Well, a good thing to do is to always be in our Father’s house and take note of everything the Lord says; nothing He says is in vain. It’s also good to remember that we need to present ourselves before our Master approved as a worker that has nothing to be ashamed of, rightly dividing the word of truth (II Timothy 2:15).

In so doing, one day we’ll be called to take responsibility for what we’ve done with the power we were granted. If we have been negligent and failed to accomplish what we had been ordered to do, we will be found wanting, which may mean that lives might have been be lost. Those who are given a mission – a mission that, if accomplished, could’ve saved so many people – but fail to fulfil it will surely be in trouble for eternity.

We’d better be attentive to what we’re being ordered and do our task with all our strength. If we put our faith into practice thus fulfilling the calling of God, we’ll be welcomed by Him instead of condemned for being negligent or lazy. Can you figure out how one’s conscience will weigh upon learning that his or her failure in doing the Lord’s work contributed to somebody’s eternal perdition?

Another important aspect to be taken into account is the fact that God is not a God of confusion (I Corinthians 14:33), that’s why it’s not prudent to hear Him speaking through a variety of sources at the same time or visiting many churches in an attempt to get a clearer message from God because that might mess up with your mind. The Word is only one.

We won’t need to worry about anything provided we accomplish the task assigned to us; we’ll only be held accountable for the tasks left under our responsibility. There are no unpleasant surprises for those who do the will of God; on the contrary, there are many delights in store for them.

In Christ, with love,
