When there is something wrong in us, it doesn’t mean it´s a serious sin; it can be a simple offense or a sloppiness in your communion with the Lord. At that moment, our spirit becomes weak and is able to ramble on about non-existent reasons. Asaph explains this in verses 7, 8 and 9 of Psalm 77. This kind of questioning can be done, but only to show the futility of examining something without the Holy Spirit´s guidance. Everything is settled in the Word!
The psalmist came to the conclusion that the uneasiness he felt was a weakness of his, because it was not based on any of the statements made by the Lord in Scripture. Likewise, if we are going to seek some of the divine blessings, we cannot base them on our own foundation, but on what God has said about them. Then, like Jacob, we will hold on to the messenger of the Most High without letting him go before he blesses us (Genesis 32:26). The Kingdom is taken by force (Matthew 11.12).
In spiritual life, never raise the white flag to the enemy. When you see him approaching you, rebuke him emphatically, without shouting, with firmness of heart. Isn’t that what Jesus did when the tempter tempted Him in the wilderness? (read Matthew, chapter 4). You must not play with the truly evil one, who comes to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). The devil exceeds anything we think is evil in anyone!
By concluding that his assumption was distress, Asaph took an important step toward deliverance. Now, our arguments are worthless before God. Jesus said: Yet I do not receive testimony from man, but I say these things that you may be saved (John 5:34). Once and for all, do not use your assumptions when you talk to the Lord, but use His Word. Then you will overcome any evil onslaught!
Spend the necessary time in God’s presence, reading the Bible and meditating on it, praying about it, and making decisions according to what is written in it. What you learn from the Father will not be taken away from you. When going through any trial, do not ask the reason for it, but rebuke the adversity by using the Word. He who is born again is made king, sovereign – over everything that concerns him. Act like one and be happy!
By remembering the years he had spent at the right hand of the Lord – and this is very strong – Asaph was able to free himself and keep himself free from the devil’s attack. The Bible states that he can transform himself into an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). This means that in some cases his work looks like the Lord’s, but never fall for this lie. That which comes from the evil one is deadly. Therefore, never accept his proposals. Resist him with the Scriptures (James 4:7).
Decide that you will live by the Lord’s guidance and work hard at meditating on the Scriptures, day and night. This is simple and only requires your care not to give in to the enemy´s attacks. With integrity of heart, stand firm on what God says. Don’t fall into the temptation of thinking that the Father has abandoned you. He who believes in the Lord sees the divine glory (John 11:40). Live in peace!
In Christ, with love,

God who heals our weaknesses! It's good to live believing in You, ignoring the evil that is afflicting us. Having ordained, we have to live as if it has already been destroyed. Trusting in You is better than repeating memorized Bible verses!
We are Yours, and we must only pay attention to You. We need to strengthen our mind and our heart. Then we will not give the devil an opening to shake our faith. In Christ, we are victorious and believing in Him, we will live. No matter what the enemy says; he is a liar and You are the Truth!
Help us to live at Your right hand, under Your power. Then we will learn how to act when the evil one approaches us. It is important for us to live within Your plan, to do Your will - resisting the onslaughts of evil against our lives. Amen!
