So he called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the contention of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the Lord, saying, “Is the Lord among us or not? Exodus 17.7

What happened in Rephidim was more than just simple murmuring. They tempted God, and, because of that, we could not know about the great work that the Almighty has prepared. The Lord knew what Amalek was planning on doing to the Israelites, the betrayal he was preparing. For sure, the end could have been different; however, since they did not understand the plan, some of them fell hurting. This cannot happen to us!

They should have believed that God is powerful to make a miracle that would be of a great lesson to them, their descendents and humanity. By not being in communion with the Highest, they have forgotten all that He did for them in Egypt and in the passing of the Red Sea. There, the pharaoh and his army fell. Many have suffered because they failed to believe that God is good, wise in planning and is greater than any other strategist.

If they had prayed, the Almighty could have made a fountain of crystal clear water rise right in front of their tents, or do another fantastic work. However, the lack of fear made people live by the flesh, when the Amalekites struck them, they blamed the Lord. Believe in what He can do for you. Believe that whoever is guided by the good shepherd will never be surprised by the enemy.

If you are a servant of God, don’t ever panic or let the devil plant a revolt against the Lord in you. He is omniscient and knows everything you need and how much you can accomplish with Him. Therefore, on certain moments, God leads you through distressed situations. Take every adversity in your life as an opportunity to grow in faith and find a given solution. Then you will see that the Father loves you and takes care of you

The Omnipotent can allow or lead some people to have “problems”, because this is part of His teachings. Actually, these difficult situations are chances for Him to operate something even bigger in your life. God wants us to get to the stature of a perfect man, but just like it happened with Jesus, His only Son, we need to learn to do His divine will regardless of any circumstances.

The Lord ordered Moses to go to Mount Horeb, accompanied be the elders of Israel with the same staff that touched the Red Sea, and strike the stone so that drinkable water would come out of it (Exodus 17.6). That is exactly what happened, but was that really God´s original plan? Probably not! Since they did not understand His first plan, He created a way to help them.

The Father directs your life, so do not let impatience grow in your heart. When a situation bothers you, remember: if God is allowing this to happen, it´s because He has something precious in the making and will have a solution for the evil that bothers you.
