He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

Psalm 107: 20

The verse above is also applied to the work God perpetrated in Egypt before sending the firstborn plague upon the people of Egypt (Exodus 12: 12). The Most High behaved that way because Pharaoh didn’t fulfil his promise to set free the children of Israel who, due to the Egyptian cunningness, ended up being enslaved by that nation. The Lord used Moses to take His people out of captivity and into Canaan. Therefore, as that servant of God received a divine message he promptly instructed The Hebrews who – because of their belief – allowed our Heavenly Father to deliver them all at once.

Today the same happens to thousands of people who pay heed to the Words of The Lord; yet, so many others have not been able to achieve the wondrous operations of the divine power yet. On occasion, that happens on account of the fact that it’s not that easy for them to take out of their heart those false religious teachings they received throughout the years; when that happens people don’t manage to receive the necessary faith they need for the power of God to operate.

All we receive from The Most High takes place by faith – which emerges in our hearts whenever we listen to The Word – , by the preaching of The Gospel or by reading The Bible. True faith guides us into what we must do. When it’s present in our hearts we can do the same works Jesus did as long as we’re following His direction. In fact, God’s The Only One who gives us the desire for a project and also its fulfilment.

We’re saved by faith (Ephesians 2: 8). Salvation is the best blessing we can ever receive from God. With it we are set free from the dominion of the empire of darkness, we achieve the citizenship of The Kingdom of Heavens and then we become heirs and heiresses of God and heirs of God through The Lord Jesus (Galatians 4: 7). Once saved our “record” becomes clean as if we had never sinned before. Salvation starts off in conversion then it continues in the waters baptism and it finishes with the baptism of The Holy Spirit.

There are great benefits for those who accept Jesus as their Saviour and Lord: they become members of The Body of Christ, the empire of darkness loses its capacity of oppressing them and they’re actually set free from all those errors which used to enslave them in the past. Christ said that a person delivered by Him becomes truly free (John 8: 36).

Through salvation we’re delivered from those temptations which had some sort of dominion over our lives before and then it turns out that we are used to speak to the lost about what might happen to them in case they won’t surrender their lives to The Lord. On top of that, we also become experts in those evil chains which used to enslave us in the past. In fact, the saved become a new creation in Christ Jesus (II Corinthians 5: 17).

Once we are members of the divine family we receive protection from God. Evil forces which used to subdue us in the past can’t dominate us any longer. Addictions, sins and other hellish assaults are history now. Being accepted into The Body of Christ it turns out that we no longer belong to the enemy and we become one along with The Lord.
