21/02/2015 - EXAMINE YOUR OWN WORK

But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.  Galatians 6.4

There is a kind of work that only you can do – the one that is given by God –, which must be completed with dedication and all of your heart and soul. As the Lord gives you a mission, he grants the abilities to accomplish it in a perfect way. Also, there is not even a small hypothesis that He might have ordered you something that is out of your capacity. Besides, the Holy Spirit assists everyone who proposes himself to do the Lord’s will.

When you accomplish your work fully, do not be immediately happy, but examine your own work. Ask God for direction to verify if you have truly executed what you were commissioned. If you feel that there is something to do, pray asking for help, in order to understand what still must be made. The Lord will not avoid showing you the deficiencies and will help you to correct them, if there is any need.

It is up to you to examine yourself to see if you really did as you should, for God’s calling is personal. When you receive an order, there is no one more capable to fulfill it, except for you, who were given virtue to do so. Therefore, put all your faith in the accomplishment of the Lord’s work, so that you are not found in want. Strive to do as the model that is revealed to you, as it happened with Moses when he built the tabernacle in the desert (Ex 25.2-35.21).

Do not be afraid of glory in itself, for this is what the Scriptures say. Do not ask the Lord to transfer to another what you must fulfill. Everything that He orders you is part of His love for your life. Barak, for example, did not feel capacitated and imposed conditions, telling the prophetess Deborah that he would only go if she went with him (Jd 4.8,9). Because of this, he lost the glory of destroying Sisera. It was a lady called Jael who had this privilege (v. 21).

No Christian should boast about another person that is used to do something for the Most High, considering him more spiritual or capacitated. Now, you must rejoice in yourself alone, giving the Lord the due glory for having used you. Each one should do as they were ordered, and therefore, they can rejoice in themselves and in the Lord. Notwithstanding, whoever does not fulfill the work of the Father will be found wanting and will have to settle accounts with Him.

Whenever you boast, do so in the Most High, in what He has determined or revealed. The truth is that a dose of humility will do no evil, for it is the Lord himself who works in us both to will and to do (Ph 2.13). Believe that there is no way to fail, since when He chose you, God knew who you were and what your disabilities were. In such a way, with His help, you can fulfill His orders, for He is who strengthens you to do so.

Everything that the heavenly Father gives us to do is because He loves us, for if He did not do so, we would have no reward. Therefore, whatever is the work that you must do for God’s kingdom, be firm and positive, believing that God has already gone ahead of you to accomplish it. You must only say amen and start your walk.

In Christ, with love,

Eternal God! The work that You give us is like a great act of Your love. Whenever we receive a mission, it is wise to start it immediately. There is not the smallest chance that someone who is called by You will not be able to fulfill what You ordered him.

Now, we understand that we must be firm in the faith and obedient to Your directions. Therefore, Your order will be completely accomplished. Thank You for loving us in such a way, giving us the opportunity of using Your power to fulfill the mission that You have given us.

We do not understand well what is the glory that we have in ourselves for having done Your will, but what we do not want is to stain Your glory. Therefore, we ask You to direct us in everything. How beautiful and pleasing is to do what You order us! Thank You very much.
