In this verse, the Lord is referred to as our Father, whose pleasure is to see His children acting wisely. We are in the best time on Earth, because Jesus came and freed us from Satan’s slavery, leading us to freedom (Colossians 1.13). Now, to be truly free from the feeling of unworthiness, a person just needs to hear the Good News and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior (Acts 3.19).
To be wise is to refuse anything that comes from the enemy, to live far from the sins of the flesh and to set a worthy example to the rest of our brothers and sisters in Christ, so that the world may not know scandal (1 Timothy 1.12-16) The faithful and good servant multiplies his talents, forgives those who offend him and brings to light those who are in darkness, as the Bible says: Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? (Matthew 24.45).
As we’ve just seen, we have an obligation to maintain our home, over which the Lord has made us the breadwinners. It’s not enough to be a good family man who makes up for the shortcomings of the home, goes to church regularly and takes his children to God’s house. True servants know that they must prepare food for those in their household. We must be patient with the weak in faith who live with us.
The Most High continues to call us to get out of the enemy’s clutches and do God’s will, which is superior to ours. This leaves no scars on our souls. The Lord’s speech is sweet, polite and perfect. By acting like Him, we learn to be wise: He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him (John 14:21). Do the same!
Who is the foolish son? Foolishness, in the context of Proverbs, means despising divine counsel and living as the lost teach (Ephesians 4:17-32). Who is our mother? The Church, where we learn to please the Father. Now, if we go down crooked paths and don’t turn to Christ, we will be considered foolish, because without Jesus, nothing good will be done. It’s sad, but there are those who choose to be far from the Lord!
No one commits greater folly than someone who denies the existence of God and declares that everything has been around since creation. But who created everything so perfectly? Surely it was the Most High! He commanded it to be so, and Jesus, the Word of God, came into being: All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made (John 1.3). The Church is sad when a child goes astray. Pray!
We came into the world with a well-defined purpose from the Omniscient One (2 Timothy 1.9). We are the best that could be made to live in these days of tribulation. Therefore, we need to make our heavenly Father happy and not make the Church sad by acting like misfits. The wise still go to the child who was born in Bethlehem of Judah to pay the price for our redemption. Love Him!
In Christ, with love,

God of our wisdom! We are grateful to You because You used Solomon to write the proverbs. Your Word enlightens us and delivers us from the evil things of life and, above all, from the dangerous and evil workings of the devil. We believe in Your Word and we love You!
We want to be wise children, rejoicing You with our life, which originated in You. Your foreknowledge has planned our existence in details, and Your statutes keep us healthy and free to obey You!
We don't want to be the sorrow of our mother, the Church. For us, there is nothing better than abiding in Your true will. May our decisions always be firm regarding everything that comes from You. Forgive us and grant us Your anointing and wisdom!
