And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin. 1 John 3.5

The apostle John brings two important revelations in the opening verse of this study. The central theme is about our sins: by receiving them on the cross, Christ became sin. But He did not become sinful because of it. At that moment, Jesus was the righteousness of God, suffering what was required for the atonement to take place. We will see below what is good about the fact that He suffered in our place!

The eternal burden that we received because of Adam’s fall was too heavy. Because of it, even if man did only good things, he would never be justified before God. Jesus’ sacrifice to redeem us was enough to be reconnected to the Father. The Bible speaks about it:   Who was delivered up because of our offenses, and was raised because of our justification. Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 4.25; 5.1). Hallelujah!

Through the work of Christ, we have no part with this evil world. See what the Word of God declares about this important statement: who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father (Galatians 1.4). Only unbelief in what the Almighty says can separate us from Him. We are the Lord’s and we will never be condemned.

The author of the letter to the Hebrews was very clear when taling about what we gained with the coming of the Savior: who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high (Hebrews 1.3). We have been fully redeemed, and when He had finished His task, Jesus sat down in His rightful place!

There is nothing better than to know that Christ has redeemed us from eternal death, as the Scriptures tell us:  who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness — by whose stripes you were healed  (1 Peter 2.24). What a high price He paid! We are grateful to Him!

John assured us that we need only do something simple, yet profound, to have peace with the Almighty, saying: If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1.9). The promise is conditional and must be heeded by anyone who wants to live free from the oppressions of the enemy. He has assured us that the Most High is faithful and just to forgive us and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Will you do so?

The apostle John, upon receiving the revelation of the last things to come, spoke about Jesus: And from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood (Revelation 1.5). Besides mentioning Christ’s titles, John affirmed that the Lord loves us and, in His blood, has washed us from our sins!

In Christ, with love,

Beloved Lord! In the face of so much revelation, we thank You for taking away from us the transgressions that shamed us and made us go forward with a sense of unworthiness received from Adam. Now we are set free!

This faithful witness never lies and will never take us where we would rather not go. It is true that the missionaries who taught us to love the Word and led us to Christ did their best. But now, we are free from iniquities!

What great love Jesus had and has for us! Therefore, we can count on living in Your Heaven, for nothing can separate us from You anymore. We live to give thanks for such a blessing. Thank You for Your goodness!
