“And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” (Matthew 11: 6)

Many people think they’re serving the Lord God, but they’ll be shocked at the sentence they’ll receive on the Great Day. They don’t imitate our Master; rather, they take other kinds of attitude which they wrongly deem to be more profitable for the Kingdom of God. We’re not expected to do our will, but the will of the One who has summoned us; the One who showed us how His work must be done. There was not even one sole disciple of Jesus in the days of His earthly ministry who wasn’t granted the power to heal the sick and to expel demons while they spread out the riches of the Kingdom of God.

John the Baptist sent two of his disciples to ask our Master if He was the One they were waiting for or if they should wait for somebody else. John’s ministry was different: he preached against sin and people were baptized by him; yet, “deliverance” wasn’t in his agenda. The Grace of God hadn’t been sent yet, and the Truth wasn’t thoroughly being put into practice. They came with Jesus. Our Saviour healed many people who were blind, handicapped and those who were going through all kinds of suffering and He said that they were expected to report all those miracles to Prophet John (Matthew 11:1-5). He then went on saying the following, which apparently had nothing to do with John’s question: “And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.” (Matthew 11:6)

Many won’t succeed for not accepting that the ministry of Christ today is also about the deliverance of the oppressed and the sick. They don’t even realize that that’s a devil’s strategy against their lives and they’ll be reprimanded by the Lord on the Great Day or even forbidden to enter the Kingdom prepared for the righteous since the foundation of the world.

The servants of the Lord can’t have free will to do whatever they please. They must understand the divine plan and fulfil it then they’ll be doing the will of our Father. If there was a better way to fulfil the work of the Most High He would reveal that to us Himself. Apart from being wise, our Lord is love (I John 4:16), that’s why He showed how His love can be revealed to the lost and how they’ll enter the Kingdom of God. If we do anything different from what we’ve been taught, we’ll surely have to take responsibility for the people whose souls are lost due to our wrongdoing.

Never disobey the divine command. Besides being love, The Lord’s omniscient (Psalm 147.5; Romans 11. 33). What He did before John’s disciples wasn’t by chance; it was a lesson for all His other followers. That’s the way all those who are being sent by Him must behave. If those who are oppressed by filthy spirits are not delivered, they’ll never convert to Christ or become children of God. The work of God won’t be done without the manifestation of His grace: the divine power in movement for us. He’s never made any agreements with demons, He simply casts them out. So, do as you’re told and you’ll be successful!

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
