“Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, while He sent the multitudes away.” (Matthew 14:22)

When an employer tells one of his employees to do something but his order is not obeyed he surely gets mad. Likewise, those who don’t heed what the Lord tells them upset the Most High. Well, God’s infinitely wise and whenever He tells us to do something it’s because that must be done for our own good. So, failure to comply with His commandments is to make a huge mistake in every aspect.

As a loving and perfect Father, the Most High would never tell us to do something that wasn’t the best for us. Besides, were it something hard to do or dangerous or something that could cause us harm, He’d do it Himself. But, on the contrary, we’ll benefit from everything He asks us to do even though the storms are approaching, therefore you have no right to disobey God!

My brethren, don’t argue with the Lord! If He tells you to get into the boat, do it. Whatever the destination, it’s where you must be; there’s the place where you’ll find the best and will avoid the worst. When the Most High grants us a ministry He also gives the tools we need to put it into practice. He might even allow us to go through a trial but He’ll come to our aid by walking in the midst of the storm, on the waters.  The Lord’s watching everything and, at the right time, He’ll give you a hand regardless of what the enemy’s trying to do to harm your life during that crossing. How happy and successful people would be if they lived the revelations of the Word of God!

We’re living a time when many are looking for immediate results. There are couples, for instance, that when they go through an ordeal in their marriage they tend to think that the best way out is to get divorced. Then the spouses close their eyes to the Word– the biblical admonishments make no sense for them anymore – they won’t listen to any counselling and they get carried away by the demon of sensuality to the point of signing their divorce. From then on, once they embark on a new love affair, they believe they have found happiness. However, one day they wake up and realize how childish they have been. But then it’ll be too late; their lives are now thoroughly messed up and they start to stride towards the eternal judgment.

Do not ever fail to obey the Lord. If He has put you in the midst of a certain family, business or a specific group of people, you should give them the testimony of truth without getting disturbed by the storm that might be approaching. The Father will deliver you from the enemy’s assaults at the right moment for He knows what to do and the divine will is the best thing you’ll ever experience.

Instead of behaving like the disciples of Jesus did – they saw ghosts all around (Matthew 14:26), look at the Son of God (v. 33)! Stand firm on His infallible Word and carry on with the task you’ve been commissioned to by God. The ministries aren’t alike but what really matters is to succeed in the mission you’ve been assigned by the Most High. As soon as you finish praying and send the multitudes away He’ll come to you. So, don’t let fear get into your heart otherwise you’ll be seeing a ghost approaching instead of the Lord.

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
