“And it happened, as she continued praying before the LORD, that Eli watched
her mouth.” (I Samuel 1: 12)
Hanna was a servant of God who decided to seek the Most High because she
was barren; she believed He’d listen to her request to present her with the so
desired maternity. So, she went to the temple and opened up her heart in such a
manner that Eli, the religious leader, who was observing her, thought she was
drunk. Everything that happened up to that point wasn’t in vain. My brother,
those who decide to seek the presence of the Lord to sort out any problem
should have hope that He’ll guide them. Now, I’ll tell you something: For being
wise, God will guide the steps of the one who’s begging for mercy till they’re
victorious and nothing will be overlooked by Him.
For a man to reach the divine Grace, he needs to seek the Lord till he feels sure
in his heart. Many good things will occur when he does that; he’s been watched
out by the Most High and He’ll tell that man what’s hampering his request to be
answered positively and what he’s expected to do so there’ll be no more barriers
on his way. In some cases, He’s got to make amends with God by confessing his
sins and also by abandoning them, so he’s got to take a stand by faith.
My brother, we mustn’t start a spiritual battle with a divided heart. Hanna was
sure that the Lord was mighty to heal her sterility. By the way, the Bible teaches
us that those who get close to our Father not only need to believe in all of His
power to solve any problem whatsoever, but also trust that He’s looking forward
to doing it and that’s when God begins operating.
With the intention of expelling sterility from her – something that was considered
shameful at that time -, Hanna went to the house of God. She wasn’t worried
about what people would say; she just behaved according to her faith. Because
Eli, the religious leader, wasn’t in spirit, he didn’t get the picture of what was
going on in that woman’s heart and since his point of view was natural he
thought she was drunk. Yet, he had to see her praying to God in that way.
What happened to her wasn’t out of the blue – nothing happens to us by chance
either, and there are no coincidences whenever we let ourselves be guided by
the Holy Spirit. Faith teaches us even the gestures we should make. On the other
hand, the enemy’s striving so we’ll become impatient or we’ll give up sooner or
later. Well, those who trust the Lord just need to pray once and then watch out
in prayer just thanking the Lord. Now those who don’t behave that way and
don’t follow the divine instructions will get nothing from Above.
The Lord’s a Father; He answers those who come into His presence in search of a solution to their problems. So, my brother, it’s utterly important to believe that He’ll empower you to fulfil your request. So, open your eyes to see that the divine hand is at work whatever the circumstances, even the most unpleasant ones. At times, the Most High allows the devil to boast what seems to be his “victory” in order for the child of God to be even more determined and not lose their blessing.
In Christ, with love,
