Then David arose and went over with the six hundred men who were with him to Achish the son of Maoch, king of Gath. 1 Samuel 27:2

The Lord is a first class strategist. In addition to knowing everything because He created us, He knows how well we will resist. Another important fact is that wherever God sends us, there will be works to be done. Therefore, as your heart is touched by the Holy Spirit, stand on your way, trusting only that divine love and power will keep you. The Father will open doors where it seems impossible.

David’s inspiration was correct, because if he loosened his service to God, King Saul would find him and kill him. Certainly, there were other things that David knew and things to be revealed to him in the land of the Philistines, archenemies of Israel. As he felt that the idea came from the Lord, he did not think twice and prepared the men at his side, so that there could be no rebellion or desertion. Everyone stayed by your side!

Suddenly the one who had defeated Goliath, the greatest hero of the Philistines, had entered his country to seek asylum. Now when God sends, He does what is necessary. So David found a welcome there with the chief of Gath. The fame of the God of Israel was known to that people from the time Samson had used divine strength and shamed his adversaries many times. Now, David and his little army were there.

Many times we are hardheaded and resist certain directions of God and with that we lose a lot. If David did not respect the direction of the Lord, he would not bother to go to the enemy; after all, he could be arrested and killed. Now when the Most High speaks, there is no reason to doubt or refuse His words, because the work is already done. The Almighty takes care of all situations beforehand; therefore always obey Him.

If the mission is for one person, it extends to the family or group. David’s men followed him everywhere, forming a team of God. Similarly, wherever he went, Jesus was accompanied by a group of ladies. These are examples to imitate in order for the work to expand. When the callings are by our side, they learn to fulfill the command of the Father.

It was difficult to support these men and their own, but with God’s grace upon David that was possible. For him, order received was order executed. So with 600 men he went to the king of Gath. One may say that they were now under the command of the Philistine king, but I would not say that, because for them to be there it was by divine command, and the Lord would keep them.

Don’t be upset if the Most High puts you to work in a place that is not your choice. Talk to the Lord and let Him guide you as you wish. In the end, you will come out with your head held high, raising the victory flag. Because he was led by God, David and his soldiers would carry out in the land of the Philistines a noble mission for their people. This is what we will see.

In Christ, with love,

God, our Strategist! Who would say that you would suddenly tell David to go to Achish the Philistine king so that Saul would not lay his hands on him and his troop? You had more for them to do for your holy people.

Often with us something similar happens. When we realize it, we don't even know how much it was necessary to do things that we would readily reject if they did not come from Thee. It is good to trust Thee continually, to let Thee lead us.

In order not to stumble in life, we want to love and serve You. Thus, we will also be loved by You. Wherever you send us, we will fulfill Your guidance. May Thy will be done in our lives. We praise You and thank You!
