Beware that you do not forget the LORD your God by not keeping His commandments, His judgments, and His statutes which I command you today.

Deuteronomy 8: 11

In view of the biblical passage above our duty is clearly stated: we mustn’t forget The Lord, our God. Yet, it turns out that almost always, whenever we need it the most, the first person that crosses our mind who could assist us happens not to be The Lord, but someone else instead. Then we go through critical moments which, by all means, could be avoided. If we followed the directions of The Most High we would certainly get the necessary assistance from our Father.

Failing to keep the commandments, apart from robbing ourselves the pleasure of being in communion with Him, does prevent us from being kept safe and sound whenever we need the divine intervention the most to deliver us from the devil’s assaults. Those who aren’t obedient to the commandments are actually being forgetful of God and, then, as they pretty often have to face crises they’ll regrettably forget that our Father, apart from being merciful, is always willing to stretch His hand to help us.

Those who forget The Most High are actually causing themselves a huge harm considering that they won’t be able to walk in His wonderful ways. Those who do so tend to live a life pretty much wrecked I’d say; some even get to the point of confessing that there’s nothing special in The Gospel as compared to their previous religion. Now, the true Gospel is the power of God but that very thing introduced to us to replace IT is nothing but one of those dead religions in which no divine manifestation takes place at all.

Those who put their trust in The Lord don’t need to make any effort to fulfil what is written in The Word. They’re more joyful, they do feel a sense of accomplishment in their lives, they’re always in a good humour, they never get into trouble and, whenever tempted, they’ll just say “no” to the enemy. Everything goes fine with them. On occasion, they’re answered even before saying a prayer because The Father is delighted in them. That’s how all the children of The Most High should live their lives.

The statutes of The Lord are the set of the most wonderful rules of living a good life. Only those things which will cause us to feel good can be found in them. There’s no harmful ordinance to the children of God; quite the contrary, any one of them will prevent us from falling into any of the enemy’s awfully treacherous schemes. That’s the reason why you ought to look for being acquainted with the commandments regarding the divine healing; prosperity; holiness as well as those which deal with family matters; marriage; the work of God among others.

The truth is that, if your heart is lifted up you’ll end up forgetting The Lord as you’re considering yourself a privileged man or woman and, well, for that very reason you’ll mistakenly think you won’t have to be accountable for what’s been entrusted to you and that you have the green light to commit any error whatsoever since, in your case, an exception perhaps, that’s allowed. Nevertheless, that’s one of the worst thoughts you could ever have because by taking that kind of attitude you’ll certainly end up caught in the clutches of the devil who will then make you go through a great deal of suffering.

Please, do ponder on that! The Lord God has taken us away from sin, and from the kingdom of darkness, and from the worse slavery; He has taken us straight into The Kingdom of the Son of His love for quite a good reason (Colossians 1:13).

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
