Save now, I pray, O LORD; O LORD, I pray, send now prosperity. (Psalm 118:25)

The devil is not interested in those who serve him but in the people of God. The enemy strives and uses all his strategies to take the Christians out of the Lord\’s presence and to make them forget the Biblical promises. The psalmist knew them well and cried out for the fulfillment of two of them. Because they are of fundamental importance for our accomplishment, failing to claim them will cause us a great loss, because without them we will suffer forever.

God’s plan of salvation is extremely important, because what He has planned is His best for us. If we do not follow the plan, we will be separated from Him forever, far from peace, love and all blessings. To make things worse, we will not be in a neutral place where we will do whatever we want; rather, we will be tormented day and night. Jesus said that there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth forever (Luke 13:28a).

Crying out for salvation and doing our best to achieve it are the most important things we have to do because it takes us back into communion with the Lord. Many have lost that blessed reality and experienced how much the enemy is cruel; the result is that they do not have God’s protection and gifts.  However, those who have already received the gift of righteousness and that have been born again will never be condemned, provided they persevere in the Lord’s Way until the end. Many victories are in store for them.

The psalmist prayed not only for salvation, but also for prosperity. Without it, life becomes empty, the days are like flavorless food, and lots of people are led into wrongdoing. Prosperity is God\’s gift, and like all gifts, it should also be sought.

The devil will do everything to keep God\’s children in poverty. For him, their prosperity is dangerous because with their financial means they are able to assist in evangelism and in the Lord\’s work in general. The devil knows that if the Lord\’s servants are in poverty, they will grow cold in faith and will probably abandon the path that would lead them to eternal happiness.

All the bad things that happen to us come from the evil genius. Poverty, for example, is one of the situations which none of God’s children should have to go through; after all, they have a rich Father and, therefore, are entitled to good things.

Furthermore, the Word of God declares that He loves the prosperity of His servants (Psalm 35:27). We can claim anything that the Father loves. He would never value something that could be bad for His children. We can be sure that if we cry out for our prosperity and salvation, God will be happy because He wants us to have all the things He loves!

In Christ with love,
