Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings of Judah, the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem? Jeremiah 44.9

God does not forget our wickedness unless we ask for His forgiveness with sincerity. Every evil work is against the Lord, who is good and desires us all to repent. While a person remains doing evil and does not repent, they will close the door for the Most High to operate. We are part of Him in this world, for His breath made us living souls, therefore we must not frustrate Him.

Through Prophet Jeremiah, God asked if the Israelites had forgotten the wickedness of their fathers. They had everything they needed to trust in the Lord and eradicate evil from the Land of Promise. However, they did not act correctly, and therefore, they stopped God from fulfilling what He had decreed for them. Thus, the Lord allowed the ancient inhabitants of Canaan to be like thorns in their flesh.

The kings of Judah did what was wrong. In fact, there were some of them that did what was right, but most of them disobeyed God and did not execute the divine commands. Thus, the enemy made the chosen people suffer. Now, every lie that is spoken is against the Truth, and there are no excuses for mistakes. Whoever trusts in the Lord avoids temptations.

The Israelite women should have learned that if they were wise, they would have built their houses. However, they were also led by temptations and did what they should not have done. Therefore, their children did not have a good spiritual education, and when they were tempted, they fell into the enemy’s lies and traps. The same thing has happened today at church, and that is why all kinds of scandals have been seen in midst of the holy people.

Almost the entire people of Judah had been corrupted. We cannot sell ourselves for any price, or accept the enemy’s proposals in our lives. We must only listen to Jesus – the Word of God. Our evil actions testify against us as if they were a megaphone resounding our secrets to all the community. Injustice only brings along with it demons and distress which will certainly not give any peace to those who pay heed to it. 

The Israelite women even offered cakes and other offerings to the one they called the queen of heaven. This Babylonian cult entered into Judah and prevailed, for through it they could follow their sensual desires. The same thing has happened nowadays with most Christians. What was wrong and nasty until a while ago now is something acceptable and even taught with false Biblical texts.

There is only one way for people to be redeemed from sinful practices in the house of God: repenting themselves. Do not be deceived with any evil proposals, because the Word cannot be changed: be holy, because I am holy (1 Pe 1.16). What will you do?
