The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. Psalm 121.6

This verse informs us that we are free from being tormented by the enemy’s dirty deeds, which bring much suffering. No weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). Being saved by Christ, you will find that light or darkness will be the same. After all, God’s children live above natural or spiritual phenomena: No evil shall befall you, nor shall any plague come near your dwelling (Psalm91.10).

Jesus’ works put an end to the onslaughts of the evil one in our lives. When the Master saw that sins, iniquities, sicknesses and diseases were upon Him, as well as the punishment that brings us peace, He cried out: So, when Jesus had received the sour vine, He said, “It is finished.” And bowing His head, He gave up the His spirit (John 19.30). Today, the devil cannot touch us. Those who are of Christ have already overcome Satan and his evils!

The forces of darkness may tempt us with their lies, but if we react with the teachings of God’s Word and rebuke the adversary whenever he comes near us, he will have no choice but to flee, as it is written: Therefore, submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4.7). Jesus said, Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you” (Luke 10.19). Believe and live!

The sun harms people whose skin is too white, causing illness and even cancer. But if we claim the right to live according to the Scriptures, no harm will come to us, including not being tormented by the sun. This does not exempt us from taking the necessary measures not to be overexposed to the sun’s rays. In the same way, the glutton should take care not to become overweight. Self-control! (Galatians 5.22 )

Why let the enemy touch us when we have the power to cast him out from our lives? Now, if he brings us any suffering, we must act immediately, without letting the problem lodge in us. Be sober, be vigilant, and at the sign of any evil operation, follow the guidance of the Word. It is not wrong to go to a doctor, for Jesus said: [...] Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick (Matthew 9.12).

The Lord also speaks of the night, which can trouble some people, causing them to be overcome by insomnia and other disturbances. A simple fear is enough for them to let the enemy disturb them. When you feel something coming from him, rebuke him and believe in your heavenly Father, so that His power may work. Jesus spoke of what we must do: Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown (Revelation 3.11). Do your part!

To be delivered from any affliction is what the Bible states in the key verse we are studying. Neither cold nor heat can keep us from working, going for walks, or doing any useful activity. Those who are of God will overcome all temptations. Therefore, be alert to all that is given to you. Then you will receive your crown on the great Day. Praise the Lord!
