After going through the Red Sea, the Israelites were led by Moses into the wilderness of Shur. It was the beginning of precious lessons they would learn in order to be the special people, as God had planned. After walking three days in the desert, they returned to Marah, but the waters there were bitter. Grumbling against Moses, they said, “What shall we drink?” (Exodus 15.24). Now, during the journey, they would not need to drink water!
After Moses sought the Lord’s answer, he was told to throw a tree into those waters, because divine power would cleanse them. The servant of God did as commanded, and soon the waters became drinkable (Exodus 15.25). This piece of tree symbolizes a Bible verse that jumps out at us. So, after we take on such a revelation and determine that the blessing will happen, that which is defiled soon becomes blessed.
For the spectacular work on those waters to be done, the Most High led Moses to cry out to Him. The Scriptures record this moment: So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them (Exodus 15.25). It took the deliverer to pray and God to use him for the wonder to happen, as well as to give everyone the statutes and an ordinance.
Today, when we are awakened to a word in Scripture, we can demand that pain and other ills come out in the Name of Jesus, but unfortunately, most holy people are not taught to take hold of what they need. Many know everything except how to act when they are attacked by afflictions. You see, in the Gospels, Christ, our Savior, gives the instructions for us to do His work!
Let us listen carefully to what is being said behind our ears, for it is God’s way of revealing His purpose to us. After taking hold of it, we have to fulfill the divine instruction that teaches us: Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying: “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right hand or whenever you turn to the left (Isaiah 30.21). The Lord knows how to guide us!
Whoever listens carefully to God’s voice by reading the Bible or the preaching of His Word becomes someone totally different and wise, able to make decisions that people will not understand. Why doesn’t everyone achieve real faith? Surely, because they do not pay attention to the Lord (Romans 10.17).
Besides listening, we must proceed righteously, inclining to what the Father says. The important thing is to obey God, keeping the statutes. Then His operations will not be hindered, and He will be the Lord who heals us. Believe and live!
In Christ, with love,

God of the mighty tree! What more do we need, if Your revelations about our actions are clear and simple? We come to receive from You the graces promised in the Scriptures. Truly, Jesus is the Lord who heals us!
Give us the ability to listen carefully and do what is right in Your sight. Our inclination must be to You alone, and our will is to keep and fulfill the commandments so that we may receive Your blessings!
We thank You for showing us that no sickness that afflicts the lost will come upon us. We desire to be Your letters, which will be read by all. This way, those who still don’t know You, will receive with joy what You have said!
