I will lift up my eyes to the hills— from whence comes my help? Psalm 121.1

There are many hills around the world – groups of people who come together to do good, but who don’t even know how to proceed in the face of a tragic deed caused by demons, or even an accident of natural causes. The Word of God assures us: Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O LORD, in the light of Your countenance (Psalm 89.15). Those who walk uprightly before God can help those afflicted by the oppressions of the kingdom of evil.

Among those who excel in various branches of science, some are considered good citizens, but even so, they are not able to give the desired solution to those who suffer various ills. The individual who thinks he is able to help someone who is facing a temptation by the devil and his demons is mistaken. If he is not in accordance with the divine will, he will not be able to bring the divine power into action.

The psalmist talked about lifting his eyes to those hills, but his search for help was unsuccessful. If he continued to look and desire the solution to problems in this same way, would he succeed in achieving it? Probably not, his misfortune would continue, because there is only one who can solve this: the Son of God. However, the question remains: would the Lord do this for anyone who looked for Him in the Scriptures? Yes, and with joy!

The psalmist was frustrated in his vain attempt to solve his misfortunes through those who were unable to address the source of such problems. He came to the conclusion that his story would change by turning to the guidance of the Scriptures. The Son of God is the Answer to our pains and disappointments. In this way, finding Him is easier than one might think.

When standing before any hill, even we Christians come to the same conclusion: we can definitely do nothing on someone’s behalf if we are not within the revealed Word. Without full communion with the Lord, man cannot help someone who is under temptation; his attempts will be in vain. Those who live under the protection of the Most High know the time and the way to help those in need.

Enjoy your time as a servant of God; otherwise, you will simply waste your strength fighting against evil. The Bible says: I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently will find me (Proverbs 8.17). There is no way to stop loving the Lord, having and keeping His commandments and being loved by Him. This means the fulfillment of His promises. Be firm in your faith in God and become someone truly blessed.

The ideal is not to look in any corner, not even at the “hills” that present themselves as good teachers, but to focus on Christ. The Scriptures declare: Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12.2). Keeping our eyes fixed on the Almighty means examining His Word, meditating over and over on what it says!

In Christ, with love,

Our true Lord! It’s good to learn to look to Jesus, Your Word. Christ came into the world in order to free us from Satan's bondage and to teach us to live as He lived so that we can be overcomers. We need to follow the Savior's example in all that He did and commanded.

We don't want to look at a physical hill, but at Your Son, the Author and Finisher of all things in the world and especially, of our faith. With it, the ancients did Your will and led multitudes to worship You. For this, they achieved the good testimony!

Our help has already come to our hearts, we just need to learn to use Your revelations and fulfill our obligation. Thank You for loving us, giving us the precious and powerful promises, so that, through them, we might become partakers of Your nature!
