“When they had crossed over, they came to the land of Gennesaret.” (Matthew 14: 34)
God was in Christ reconciling the world and He is in us today as well. We have to realize that we must serve the Lord twenty four hours a day because the enemy – aware of our mission and precisely because of it – tempts us in many ways such as with: anger, offense, lies, among others. A Christian who is not aware of the devil’s methods is easily carried away by the allure of sin. The right thing to do is not to forget that he or she has a calling and he or she must not allow anything to separate him or her from the love of God (Romans 8:39).
The way is not always smooth. Sometimes we find mountains ahead of us; on other occasions there is a swamp or even the sea. In any event, it does not matter what will come up during our journey because the right thing to do is to never let ourselves be hindered by any obstacles; rather, we have to move on without moaning or hesitating. Do not give the enemy the pleasure of delaying your journey or even of preventing you from doing it. Always being happy is the secret of victory!
After crossing the sea, the Lord got to the land of Gennesaret. Never mind about the name or the importance men give to a certain place because what matters is that there is a work of God that must be done and those who are sensible will not hesitate to fulfil His plan. Regardless of how ragged the terrain might be we will always be helped in everything by the Master. We cannot forget that our Savior will always fulfil His promises.
The people of Gennesaret recognized the Lord. You should also be recognized. It will not be necessary to pay for people to talk about you inasmuch as the way you behave, your appearance and the anointing upon your life will give testimony that you are a truly servant of the Most High. That’s what happened to Elisha and still
happens to all those who are wise, who serve and worship the Lord in spirit and in truth (John 4:24).
God Himself brings to us those He wants us to help. Since we know that His Spirit has a plan for everybody, we can trust that the Most High will never send us anywhere at random; on the contrary, He will assist us in everything. The Lord prepares not only the house where we will rest but also our food and the people who will be helped by us.
Jesus did not let Himself be carried away by success, or by weariness or by any other thing that the enemy certainly showed to Him. On the contrary, our Master stood firm in His mission and used God’s power to deliver the oppressed. Whatever the situation do not stop using the authority granted to you in Christ because if things are not done this way, your mission will not be fulfilled. It is not good to frustrate the Lord.
In Christ, with love,
R. R. Soares
