“And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.” (I John 1:4)
Throughout the entire Bible, we can see that the Lord is worried about our happiness – He wants us fully happy because we can only do the divine work with a joyful heart. We get that kind of joy when the Most High pays us a visit and when that happens it means we can take possession of what we’ve been promised. That’s the reason why nobody can take it away from us.
It’s paramount for a Christian to feel joy, but God tells us that that joy must be complete because He’s always looking forward to making us feel good – after all, we won’t be able to fulfil His will without it and we won’t be successful either. So, our main goal is to have a joyful heart in order to accomplish with perfection the commandments the Most High gives us.
The Holy Scriptures instruct us to serve our Lord with joy in Psalm 100 verse 2. Well, we won’t be able to rebuke evil and to determine our blessing to come or to make our rights worth otherwise. Jesus said that we’re only pronouncing words when we ask something before feeling that joy; but once we’ve received it we can use His Name and the work will be done.
The joy that must fill up our heart isn’t a product of our minds which often rejoices with something good we get such as, for instance, a favourable law decision, a reunion, meeting our dearest relatives again, etc. Now, we’re granted that kind of joy when Jesus Himself visits us (John 16: 22 b) which might happen during a service when a message of the Word is conveyed; by reading the Bible or by meditating on the message just ministered.
When we feel joy in our hearts it means we’re about to receive the divine blessings; once we’ve taken possession of that joy we’re ready to assume what’s been revealed to us as the Lord’s will and acting with faith, the power of God will accomplish what we have determined. Not even the requests we made before that blessing
were accepted; they weren’t even considered requests (John 16: 24). So, my brother, get ready! As you receive joy in your spirit,
don’t stop praying and take possession of your victory.
The good news is that nobody will ever manage to take our joy away. Now, we’ve got to live up to the divine promises; to constantly read the Bible; to pray and praise the Lord for His revelations to us. This way, we’ll bring Jesus to pay us a visit and when that happens we’ll be overwhelmed by the joy of the Lord which is our strength (Nehemiah 8: 10)
My brother, don’t try to do the work of God without a joyful heart; your work will be in vain. Yet, don’t put off His work as the Lord feels joy for your life. Be strong, regardless of what the devil did to you and command evil to get out as you’re feeling that joy. You’ll be more than a winner when you behave that way!
In Christ, with love,
