Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.
I John 3:2
We must pay attention to when the Scriptures speak of a present or of a future time. The verse quoted above speaks of the time we are living and what can happen to us here. There are times, however, when the Bible talks about what will happen in the future, before the Rapture of the Church; and, in some other occasions, about what will happen after the coming of the Lord Jesus.
The first truth I want to point out in this biblical passage is what the Word of God declares: now – not after death – we are children of God. So, as such, we have rights and privileges which we should use. Lawyers, for example, know that if citizens fail to claim their rights or do not care about the rights they are entitled to, they will not be assisted. With faith is the same: he who slumbers will not obtain help from the Lord.
No matter who you are or the suffering you might be going through: if you want to be free from anxiety, you must know what was given to you in Christ and say the prayer of faith. There is much more awaiting us in eternity than we can think of. In fact, when we get to the Heavens, we will be surprised with what there is in store for us.
The second truth is that in the everlasting Glory we will know our Lord just as we are also known by Him (I Corinthians 13:12). Because we are the children of the Most High, the inheritance that is reserved for us will never come to an end for all eternity because we will take possession of the Kingdom of God.
One day the Lord will come and take us up and then we will be with Him forever (I Thessalonians 4:17). When He does this all our tears will be wiped away, our weaknesses will be removed, and we will be clothed with immortality. Christ will lead us to His eternal Kingdom where evil will never enter. We will be in the presence of the Lord forever with no remembrance of earthly events. But woe to he who misses out on that
great blessing prepared for all those who put their faith in Jesus!
One of the biggest revelations of what awaits us in eternity is that we will we be made in the likeness of the Son of God – and the glory of it all is that we will never step down from this position. There in heaven there is no devil to tempt us and neither is there anyone inspired by the enemy to harm us. Heaven is a perfect place where the divine will is always fulfilled and respected.
We will see Jesus as He is. What a wonderful day that will be when we will get to know the Lamb of God, who died in our place and rose for our justification! In eternity there will be no secrets and we will not be considered inferior; rather, we will be endowed with the heavenly glory. Therefore, dear reader, do not give up the opportunity to live eternally with Christ in heaven!
