“So then each of us shall give account of himself to God.” (Romans 14:12)

God’s eternal and we, as human beings, can’t know Him or understand Him fully while we’re in the flesh. However, one day, in eternity, the saved ones will know Him just as we’re known by Him today (I Corinthians 13:12). Yet, having been made in His image and likeness (Genesis 1:26), we’re qualified to tell between right and wrong and our conscience tells us whether what we’re doing is approved or not by our Creator.

We aren’t lords of ourselves. That means we can’t decide what moral standard we’re going to follow; what we have to do is to bow to God’s guidance because we’re His creations and, as such, we have to do what pleases Him. He forbids certain things not out of ill-will but for our own good. Because He is thorough, holy and wise – besides other qualities of perfection – God instructs us not to do specific things; if we do them, they’ll drive us away from the Lord and we’ll suffer in the hands of the enemy.

We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ on the appointed day (II Corinthians 5:10). Our attitudes will be brought to light there, whether good or bad, and there will be no compassion, mercy or forgiveness in that judgment. So, those who are wise must turn now to God to confess their errors in order to be forgiven. Judgment will be made with mercy; however, nothing will come to our aid on that day. We’ll be judged for what we did or didn’t do regarding the revelation of the Word of God.

Even our thoughts will be revealed on the day of eternal judgment. What was said or agreed inside an office will be made public with a loud voice. The secret agreements, the forbidden affairs, all kinds of treason, all lies and devilish plans secretly concocted will be brought to light. Many tell lies and they make up alibis to get away with the condemnation of men but on the great day everything will be fully revealed and the condemnation will be according to their transgression.

Nothing will remain veiled and even the hearts’ intentions will be shown. The victims will watch live and in bright colors all the scams and strategies that were made to cheat them. The righteous Judge won’t be complacent and because there will be no compassion or mercy, those who gave in to sin will be considered criminals and shall be doomed to eternal condemnation. So, you’d better get rid of your opponent while he’s on his way!

Those who sin, it doesn’t matter what kind of sin, will be condemned for the transgressions that they didn’t confess and fix while they lived. How many people are hiding their flaws from their business partner, their spouse, their employer and others? Woe to all of them for they’ll be condemned!

In Christ, with love,

R. R. Soares
