With a single gaze we can tell if somebody is really a servant of God or not. Those people who serve The Lord have their attention drawn towards helping their neighbour getting close to God. Those who have not experienced salvation, even though they may be willing to look like the children of The Most High, will not be able to achieve that, since their nature is still decadent and, on account of their being dominated by sin, they will soon be showing themselves as such.

The servants of God will never do anything that is not allowed or authorized in The Scriptures. Even when they have the opportunity to act crookedly they will never get their hands dirty. They will not be like Saul who spared Agag and did not sacrifice the best oxen and the best sheep (I Samuel 15:9) with the excuse that that was just his offering to The Lord. We can draw a clear line between those who serve God and those who don´t.

On account of their always living in the presence of The Most High, we can see the saved ones are specially joyful, they are trustworthy and they are able to show such an appealing serenity causing those around them to naturally feel like getting close to them. It feels really good to talk with someone who serves The Lord. Yet, if they are going away from The Way, that will soon be notorious. Just with a simple gaze we can see what is in their inner being, because the Speech of those people who obey The Most High is based on His Word.

Those who do not serve The Lord feel pains in their inner beings because they resent their neighbour’s happiness; and they covet someone else’s riches; someone else’s spouse; someone else’s servant and the assets of others. Those people happen to always feel unsatisfied as their main goal is to hoard more and more; finally, they even forget their past words because, every minute, they are making up more lies.

The ungodly are known by their broken spirit. None of them will ever be able to do good. Whenever they do charity they do so to show off or to try to get rid of the pain they bring inside them. They are always looking for something that could make them feel victorious or recognized by their counterfeit good deeds. Some even get to purchase titles of benefactor to boast about as they pretend being benevolent people. How miserable they are! The spirit of deceit has dominated them.

The lost people can only think about themselves all the time; and as soon as their mouths are opened, we can clearly spot, at once, the one who is subduing them. And they go from peace to war in a blink of an eye. If they feel threatened by the idea of loss then they bring out the “beast” in them. They have no clue as to what mercy, love and compassion are.

Now the children of God have a joyful and natural countenance. Even when they are humiliated or deceived they do not lose the divine love they have inside them. They are always willing to be of some assistance to somebody; they spend their time by interceding for the sinners and they never deny the fact that they serve The Lord. Those people do set the example which is quite an encouragement for all of us.
