26/11/2010 - GLORY IN THE SAVIOR

Therefore I have reason to glory in Christ Jesus in the things which pertain to God. (Romans 15:17)

The Most High, as the Maker and Lord of heaven and earth, possesses all things and gives each one of them a designation because He reigns supreme over everything – nothing escapes His power. Having created man to have dominion over all His creation, God gave him power over the material world, but the spiritual realm is under the dominion of the Lord (John 3:6-8). Yet, whoever is born again will see the kingdom of God (John 3:3) and will have access to the things that belong to Him.

With the salvation wrought by Jesus on the cross of Calvary, all who convert are transformed into children of God by adoption (Ephesians 1:5); therefore they are the heirs of the Father, just as Christ. In other words, they are joint heirs of all things that the Almighty has (Romans 8:17). All power in heaven and on earth has been given to Jesus by God. Because we are joint heirs with Him, we can also enjoy this blessing. He who is in Christ has the same privilege that was given to Him. We do not have to do anything, but to believe in the fact that everything that the Word of God assures us belongs to us and is at our disposal. After all, says the Word, God made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus (Ephesians 2:6).

There are many people who are afraid to be fearless and claim their right in Jesus because they think that it will displease God, but in fact He delights to see His children participating in what is His. We must not be shy, thinking that because of some sin committed in the past we are not entitled to that grace. On the contrary: even if you have led a sinful life, when you accept Jesus you are forgiven (II Corinthians 5:17), because there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ (Romans 8:1). If there is no condemnation, our access to God’s barn is free.

Moreover, our participation in the divine work is a gift given by the Lord. If we fail to believe in what He tells us, we will miss the best of what was planned for us. In His infinite wisdom, the Lord knew all that would happen in our lives and planned our relationship with him, which undoubtedly is very fruitful.

We have dominion over material things – that glory He destined to all of us – however, only those who are born again have access and can enjoy what belongs to the Father. Like Paul, we can claim that we glory in the things of God. So be sure to enjoy the divine plan. Take hold of what belongs to you and glory in the things that the Lord has. The plan the Almighty designed is not only beautiful but it also supplies all your needs. So live victoriously!

In Christ with love,

R. R. Soares
