A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.

Proverbs 17: 22

Our Creator has not neglected anything. As He created The Heavens and earth and all that exists in them He also created good remedies. Those natural remedies are to be utilized to tackle those diseases that emerge now and then and also for preventive measures. A joyful heart is precisely one of them. As He talks about our heart, The Lord is actually referring to our true being or our spirit. It would be fantastic if it was always joyful considering that that is one of the good remedies prepared by God.

Of course The Scriptures are not talking about the natural joy that everybody should have, but that one that comes into our heart with the visitation of The Lord. Jesus promised to pay us a visit and, as He does so, our heart feels such great satisfaction. And with it, we can command any disease to get out of our lives and, at the same time, if we cherish such joy it will serve us as an effective remedy.

The grace of God is so abundant and powerful that, provided it is kept in our heart, it will work as the remedy for all our suffering. How many children of God would stop being in need of so many medical treatments if they only allowed the joy of The Lord to fully take over their inner being? Bit by bit, those who live their lives fully plunged in the divine joy come to realize that their bodies have become stronger and healthier.

Considering that it is a fact that some diseases are caused by the absence of God in us, why not urgently seek His presence then? With His coming, our heart will rejoice, but without it, our happiness will not be complete. Everywhere it takes place, unhappiness vanishes and, along with it, a series of suffering as well. Ask The Lord to fill your spirit up with the divine joy.

Those people who do not have joy in their spirit are easily shaken by even the least provocations they are subjected to. Inside our churches we find loads of people suffering just like those who are outside The House of God. The reason for that is that they do not put into practice what they have learnt in The Word; therefore, they are just as empty of God as sinners are.

If our spirit does not have the divine grace, it cannot stand up against its numerous daily oppressions; and when that happens the organic structure of man dries up. The downside here is seeing Christians bowing down before temptations. The Bible already tells us that the devil is a round-the-clock tempter; yet, the Bible assures us that if we walk in Spirit we will never fulfil the lust of flesh (Galatians 5: 16). Our struggle to fulfil all The Word makes all the difference.

Some people are healthy but their moral grounds are entirely corrupted. That is the reason why, for everything to go well for you, you need both your organic and your spiritual structure to effectively enjoy the divine grace. Without the joy of The Lord they will not be able to cope with any temptations and, when that happens, you will get lost forever. Now, those who have been enlightened know very well that the eternal life is the best thing that has ever happened to them. Therefore, what is the point of losing it?

In Christ, with love,
