The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season. Psalm 145.15

Man cannot live without the food that sustains him daily. If it is missing, he will not fulfill himself as a child of God and may give himself over to sin, destroying himself for eternity. In the temptation in the desert, Jesus rejected Satan’s plan: But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.’ (Matthew 4:4). Don’t despise God’s Word!

Only the Word nourishes our soul correctly. Then, we will be able to do the work as planned by the Lord. This is the only way to be full. The food given by God is like the manna available to the Israelites in the desert. They spent 40 years eating from that bread, without any health issues. Although living in that inhospitable place, they only faced plagues when they sinned. The Word is perfect!

Political, military and religious philosophies are vanities and will never fill man’s intrinsic and natural emptiness, because they are empty alternatives. The only thing that fills us is the divine Word: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God (John 1.1). Jesus declared: “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing (John 15.5).

No one will be complete apart from the Most High. So, we need to look to the Holy Book for the heavenly nourishment that enables us to live victoriously. Even if someone becomes the dictator of the world, he will still be just a man, and without the Bread of Heaven – he remains unfinished. The arrogance of some makes them playthings in the enemy´s hands. With God, you are truly fulfilled!

Just as in the natural life – in which we have to develop muscles, mind, and other organs of our body in order to mature – in the spiritual life, we must wait for the right time to learn and be ready for challenges. Without a doubt, if we do not pay attention to the Scriptures, we will never be complete (Ephesians 4.15,16). There is no way for the devil to deceive us – only if we allow him!

Now, God knows what we need even before we are aware that we lack something, and He gives what we need as we come to Him. Seek the Source of good; the rest is vanity. Whoever does not seek the Lord will never be free. Why does the creature insist on not bowing down before the Creator? Surely, behind this lies the works of hell, whose purpose is to keep the person in its clutches!

You draw near to your heavenly Father by meditating on the Word, praying, and praising. So go all the way, keeping the commandments, and your life of faith will be perfected. The more you learn from the Lord and do what He teaches you, the more you will become the blessing He planned you to be. Fulfillment? Only in Jesus!
