For the needy shall not always be forgotten; the expectation of the poor shall not perish forever. (Psalm 9:18)

The devil is referred to by all types of negative adjectives, whereas God is worthy of all positive ones. One of them is “righteous”. The Lord is not carried away by temper tantrums and neither does He commit any iniquity out of a fit of anger. Wickedness has never even come near our Father. His works are clean, perfect and done with love and justice. The Most High looks with mercy and compassion even at those in error. He tries to help those who have been oppressed and dominated by sin and those who are under temptations, which can be very destructive to those who yield to them.

Temptation is the enemy\’s main ability to lead individuals to stray from the path of goodness, attacking people in every possible way and insinuating suggestions. However, those who are tempted and need deliverance will not perish forever. They need love, consideration and a helping hand (Luke 22:31-32) to be freed from the onslaughts of evil.

When the devil tempts an individual, sifting him, – as the Master said about Peter – he is capable of committing the greatest insanities, even denying Jesus. If an individual can deny the Son of God, what else is he capable of? Because of the traps of the devil, men and women have fallen into adultery, dishonesty and other transgressions. So all the enemy wants is that the "good guys", those who "never" sinned stand up and throw the first stone. At that time, the Word of God must be preached and practiced because if there is one person who has never sinned, this person will stone the sinner. However, God does not want stoning, but salvation.

Jesus was brought to tears of blood in his struggle against the forces of darkness (Luke 22:44). Although He had not sinned, He had to deliver sinners from condemnation. Our fate depended on the decision of the Son of God. If He had crossed His arms, we would have been lost forever. If He had confronted the tempter, the latter would have been ashamed, and we – all humanity – could be saved from such destruction. Think about it before joining the enemy and dooming the innocent to destruction.

Who will fill in the gap? Who will volunteer to save someone from Satan\’s power? Temptation comes according to the capacity that the devil has to drag precious souls through the dirty way of death. We are the only ones who can help the lost ones to be delivered and be called children of God. Do not throw any stone at them, but rather give them the gift of God, which is forgiving and liberating. Those delivered by Him will truly be free. So let the Lord use you in His work.

In Christ with love,

R. R. Soares
