The LORD takes pleasure in those who fear Him, in those who hope in His mercy.

Psalm 147:11

Stupidity of religious people makes them do absurd things thinking our Heavenly Father is taking pleasure in them. Most of the time those attitudes get into the nerves of the true, righteous and holy God. Making up images, selling them, worshiping them or bowing down before them are attitudes that provoke the divine wrath. Celibacy, for instance, being not a straightforward order from The Lord to someone, is an offense to the divine plan for humankind. Most single adults are sinners.

What are the consequences of someone having The Lord taking pleasure in them? We have a vast array of answers here in that the divine favour is directed towards that person. Those in whom God takes pleasure will realize that even their desires are fulfilled because His will leads even the least details of one’s life; in doing so, your feet will not slide off towards any shortcut.

Our loving Father does not take pleasure in those who bootlick Him with empty, divine-anointing-free words. Those who fear Him are those who respect His Word, they fulfil His will and do what they were told to do. Undoubtedly, we can say that David was a man after the heart of God because he respected and fulfilled everything God had commanded him to do.

Apart from those who fear The Most High, there is another group in which The Lord takes pleasure: those who wait in His mercy. The only reason why some incomprehensible things happen is that the devil is behind them. In that case – the bad seed had not been planted – the best thing to do is to wait in the mercy of God for it to give you the escape. That also pleases Him.

Those who really want to please God must fear Him and act always based on what His holy mercy has done for all of us. Such awesome gift of our Heavenly Father is what caused His Son to come and die on our behalf here on earth. Christ suffered our sicknesses and He was wounded for our sins. Therefore, those who believe in it and refuse to accept any disease or temptation on account of the sacrifice of Jesus are fully pleasing God.

Our attitudes not only show what we will enjoy and what we will become in eternity, but also they train us to truly be happy by our Saviour. Those who do not strive to please The Lord, when the reckoning day comes, will see that He will not take any pleasure in taking them to His Abode. We can prove here whether we love Him or not.

Therefore, while you are in this world you are to prepare to make The Lord happy with your demeanour, thus, you can be sure you will have an endless happy life. Look forward to being acquainted with the divine commandments and strive to put them into practice. Spend time on the matters of God and then you will see that, in the same amount of time, or even longer than that, The Lord will be keen on taking pleasure in you as well.

In Christ, with love,
