Now the LORD had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, from your family and from your father’s house, to a land that I will show you.

Genesis 12:1

Have you ever wondered who your father was before you converted? Now you belong to God but if only those who resist surrendering to the Lord knew that the devil is their father, many would abandon sin and would ensconce into the arms of the Father. Jesus said that the devil is the father of lies and of the lost ones (John 8:44) and they desire to do their father’s evil will. The decision to accept Christ as Savior delivers us from the fatherhood of the devil.

You have to leave the house of the one who dominated you before you became a born again creature. There are many people who have taken some steps towards the truth but still live under the authority of evil, fulfilling the desires of Satan and being oppressed by him. My brethren, he who does not repudiate the lordship of the devil over him and who does not leave his house in order to enter the Kingdom of Jesus will pay an exceedingly high price because the enemy is a bad father and he will make his subjects suffer tremendously.

If the devil is the father of the lost, the demons are their siblings. You must make the decision and renounce the practices that these evil beings induce you to do. It is just not possible to live with them, abiding by their dirty whims, lying, having your eyes full of lust and filth. You have to cleanse yourself, abandon transgressions once and for all and live a life of holiness as befits God’s house.

Get out of the land where you learned to lie, to be dishonest and unfaithful. Do not stay where the enemy reigns because if you do he will easily lead into sin again. Many Christians grow cold in faith, depart from the Way and start doing everything that is wrong due to not observing the counseling contained in the Word of God. The command is to leave your country, your family and your father\’s house. Do not try to live in the Kingdom of God when you are still involved with the evil of the past.

It\’s for your own good that God commands you to walk towards the land which He will show you, so go to that land. Do as Abraham did: he obeyed and was rewarded. God shall reward those who comply with His will. You can rest assured that your Canaan is a land that is rich in every way, because in it there are no enemies that will cause you any injury, deception or suffering. You will find everything you need to enjoy abundant life in the land the Lord promised.

Prepare to take possession of what God will show you and strive to remain in this new land. The Biblical Canaan was the symbol of the new land of the Jews. Your new land is full of the good things that the Lord has prepared. You shall lack nothing in this new territory. So, start to explore the potential of your spiritual Canaan. Everything that is revealed to you is the divine plan for your life. Never leave this land!
