01/08/2016 - GUILTY FOR THE LOSS CAUSED TO OTHERS

They angered Him also at the waters of strife, So that it went ill with Moses on account of them; Psalm 106:32

The conduct of the children of God must always be in accordance with the biblical precepts, because if they don’t pay attention, they can cause irreparable damage to their leaders or to themselves. The sheep must hear the voice of their shepherd.  If, by chance, they think he is not doing his job very well, then they must pray for him. This leader might be going through some problems.

The Israelites provoked Moses until he got upset, and because he did not remain alert, he was in anger and did not glorify the Lord before the rock to which he should have spoken, so that water might come out from it. Then, the Most High had to forbid him from entering into Canaan, and a little bit before the Israelites entered the Promised Land, the Lord took him away. We know that whoever gives a cup of cold water to the little ones, surely they will not lose their reward (Matthew 10:42). What about if they give it to a leader, will they lose it?

If you don’t understand certain attitudes of your pastor, pray and ask the Father to show him what to do. Treat him with respect and let God take the initiative. Even if this pastor has backslidden and done something bad, you must be loving with whom the Lord has placed to guide His work. At the same time, be careful so that you are not his stumbling block.

With the philistines coming closer, the Israelites began to abandon Saul. Then, as they were about to be attacked by that people who outnumbered them and as they saw that Samuel was taking too long to arrive to offer a sacrifice, the king dared to make the offer. That is why he lost his kingdom. Stay together with your leader in regards to what God commands and, if he deviates, be firm in your faith and only fulfill the divine commands.

The Israelites acted foolishly because of the lack of water. Throughout the history of Israel, similar episodes took place, like when King Josiah decided to face the powerful Necho, governor of the great Egyptian Empire. There are also other stories which the Scriptures did not register the reason for their bad decisions; however, those who lead them to take these attitudes, most certainly are held accountable for them.

When saying that evil came upon Moses as a result of the actions of the Israelites, the Lord teaches us to be careful so that we are not responsible for the harm that many will have in life or on the Day of Judgment. God does not let Himself be mocked (Galatians 6:7), for those who sow a bad seed will certainly pay for it. Get rid of the ties set up by the devil; after all, as a servant, you must honor the Most High and those He put ahead to lead His work.

Our attitude towards the anointed of the Father has to be of complete respect and love, because if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand (Mark 3:25), and woe to that man by whom the offense comes (Matthew 18:7). If you cannot do much to help in the work, then the simple fact of not doing anything to disrupt it is already of great importance. Never give room to the devil (Ephesians 4:27).

In Christ, with love,

Our Counselor! You know we are of flesh and, therefore, we are subject to wrath or make a decision which is bad for You, Your people and for us. Therefore, we ask for those whom You have placed to conduct Your work. Help us in all things, Lord!

Moses did not keep alert, and because of that 40 years of wandering went by without having the pleasure of setting their feet in Canaan. May Your people take these examples and not fall before any difficulty, but place all subjects before You and come out victorious.

May no pastor be influenced by the provocations of a sheep or all the flock that are under his care. Thus, these servants of the Lord will take part of the glory to be revealed to those who remain firm until the very end. Amen!
